Spyware Blaster, as its name suggests, is a program which blasts spywares. It is a different kind of anti-spyware tool, the reason for that is that it works where other tools fail. It doesnt allow spywares to be installed in the first go!
How it works : It disables the CLSID's of the known spywares, dialers and all related stuff in the windows registry and due to which while you are surfing the internet those sites which tend to install those spyware are not able to install it on the first go.
PROS :
- Blocks the spywares at the time of installation.
- Does'nt need to be running in the background thus keeps computer's memory free.
- It's a Freeware.
- Is updated regularly.
CONS :
- Fails to inform about blockage of spyware. I've chosen it as a negative because most newbies think that it doesnt work and is only using up the space, however that is not the case at all. So, it will be better to have a small notification of when a spyware is blocked, so that newbies dont whine about this.
Features : Apart from the main task of protecting the users from spywares, adwares, etc. it provides certain other tools to give more control to the advanced users. It allows users to take snapshot of the system's registry so that in case of crisis, an older but safer version of registry can be loaded. It has a tool to keep window's HOST file safe and some more small but usefull tools.
Value : As it is a freeware and such a usefull tool..it's of great value to the internet and its users.
