Review of Google Sreadsheets & Free Invites

Anyway, the first look & feel of Spreadsheets is just like Microsoft Excel but handles things a bit differently. I'll bring all that in the post. One more thing, I've created an animation which describes most of the features of Google Spreadsheets. Click on this : SNEAK PREVIEW OF GOOGLE SPREADSHEETS.
Interface : As I said earlier that the interface of Google Spreadsheets is similar to Microsoft Excel or Openoffice.org's Calc. It lets you edit the cells and formulas without any problem. And, as it is powered through AJAX, the feel is just like that you are working on a local desktop.
There are some problems like the cool increment feature of Excel and Google Spreadsheets fails in that dept. It allows users to select the whole rows and coloums too. All in all, a possible alternate of these massive local softwares.
Features : Well, Google Spreadsheets is certaily feature rich! It allows users to upload the existing files & export or download the online files. However, failes to export as CALC file. Another major feature which it lacks is the Charts facility, which is certainly a good option to have. It lets you use lot of forumlas which are in a different link as seen in the above VIDEO. One good feature is that it lets users Chat with the help of GOOGLE TALK, so, google talk is also integrated in it but it does'nt show the Google talk list, only lets those people chat with whom you are sharing the file. It is certainly feature packed, but still needs a lot of improvement considering that there are already softwares like this and have much better features.
Ease of Use : Google Spreadsheets is simple & easy to use. Just because of nice blend of interface and AJAX technology it seems to be exteremly easy to use and any new computer user will not find it difficult to adjust with it.
Value : I think I'll just simply take away this criteria in future, because as I've mentioned before that it is always difficult to actually guess their value as they are free and feature rich so they become PRICELESS :)
Well, to be honest It impressed me a lot but due to lack of some important functions it is loosing the marks. However, it is certainly gaining in the field of its look and feel. I know it is still far behind the Giant in spreasheets and that is Microsoft Excel but as it is still in LABS or BETA phase, we'll always expect better features in future :)

Well, If you notice that I've mentioned about the chart feature which is the most important feature and few others.
I'll bring them down in my next post about it..There are other comepetitors like Zoho Sheet (http://www.zohosheet.com) there is already a review of it. I'll be bringing the comaprison between both these softwares in my future article.

One thing, what are the features that you think are missing from this product that are available in others. What are the competing products?
