Snipshot Versus PXN8 - Online Photo Editors!

Wednesday, June 28, 2006

It seems to me that I am getting into the habit of comparing the services, as in past few days I've brought 2-3 articles which are comparison between the services :

* Clipmarks - Better than Google Notebooks
* Zoho Show Versus Thumbstacks!
* Google Spreadsheets or Zoho Sheet - which is better at this time?

And may be some more...

Anyway, coming back to this post and in this post, I am going to compare and review two online photo editing services and they are Snipshot & PXN8.

So, here is the comparison & review :

SNIPSHOT

Snipshot formerly known as Pixoh is very not the easiest to use image editor as it involves the manual feeding of the values of hue, saturation etc. and there are some other positive & negatives....

* Misses the toolbar & buttons : You have to manually make the changes apart from some like resizing.

* Supports large file sizes and files upto 10 MBs or 5000X5000 pixel large.

* Provides less features and is mostly limited to rotation, crop, brightness, hue, saturation, contrast and sharpness.

* Supports unlimited Undo's & Redo's however misses the button of Redo in the toolbar, however people can use CTRL+Y to perfrom the REDO function.

* Lets you save in many formats which include jpeg, png, psd (photoshop document), gif, pdf and lets you directly upload the image to flickr.

PXN8

PXN8 which is pronounced as pix-en-ate seems to be a better online image editor lets find out more about the positives & negatives of the service :

* Show the selection area, zoom level, size of the picture and the position of the cursor according to the photograph, which can be handy at times.

* Has a toolbar which includes all the effects and the list of effects is also big. It can do all these kind of editing : lets you enhance the picture, lets you to add the light, lets you Zoom in and zoom out for better editing, crop, resize, rotate and lots more..it also has color effects like sepia, whiten etc. And the best of the lot it has RED EYE removal!

* Only allows to save the image as Jpeg but lets you upload the image to Flickr and also lets users to upload it webshots and then provides with a TinyURL which can come handy in various places.

* Supports Undo & Redo.

Well, these were some of the positives and negatives of the services and if we go by the ease of use, features and interface then PXN8 will be the clear winner!

Not only it has more features but a nice interface which will appeal both new users to advanced users.

Products Compared : Snipshot & PXN8
Winner : PXN8
Rating : PXN8 gets 4 out of 5 Dinos & Snipshot gets 3 out of 5 Dinos
