Gift Of Microsoft To Software Testers & Reviewers!

Monday, July 24, 2006

Few days back Microsoft released Virtual PC 2004 SP1 and announced that it is completely free and thus gave a great news to the testers and reviewers. Virtual PC is a software which allows the users to intall various x86 based operating systems.

The reason I've said that it will be good for the testers and reviewers because testing of the software can be done without worrying about corrupting the system and same goes with the reviewers.

I've not reviewed many softwares but I am going to review the software's shortly and with the help of Microsoft Virtual PC 2004, I'll be able to do it without worrying of corrupting the HOST OS.

The software provides virtualisation and thus can help the users to be secure online. I'll suggest that users must install the software and then use a different OS as the GUEST OS.

Here is the site which provides the list of supported OS by Virtual PC : What works and what does't work in Virtual PC 2004. Although, the list is Unofficial but still can be usefull for the not much advanced users who are still wondering about whether the OS will work or not.
