What Microsoft Can Do To Beat Others ?
Well, If at all, Microsoft links this service to the Live Accounts and starts to provide the office for free or for a nominal charge then I am sure that there will be a flood of people who'll use the service and will never whine about Microsoft Products.
Without a doubt, Microsoft Office is the best office application ever and it is being developed from many years and anyone will love to use the service without any problems, provided Microsoft starts to think in this manner.
What are the possibilities ?
Well, the chances of this are dim however, nothing is impossible and when it is about Microsoft then the statement becomes even clear! However, the problem with this will be that Microsoft will not like to give away their so much expensive software for free but I am sure if not Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft can think of providing Microsoft Works to the users, not only that will increase the customer base but will fetch them new clients and new ways of earnings.
All in all, we can only hope that Microsoft thinks in this direction and offers either Microsoft Office 2007 for free or for a nominal charge on the internet and if not Office then Works is always there.

oh yes, I know that it is a citrix connection. And if you are not sure then they will not at all need one machine per user!
I've worked on citrix connections and I understand how they work...By the way, I am a Computer Network Proffessional.
Citrix connections can be installed on one server and various users can login at one single point of time...That is why I said that it is possible for Microsoft to do so, that is a different issue if they dont do it.

This is not an online version of office, but a Citrix (like Terminal Services) connection to an actual machine containing Office 2007 so users can see what its like. They would need one machine per user in the world to make this available to everyone, which is obviously not their intention.
