Vishing : Another Bad News After Phishing!
Saturday, July 22, 2006
In "vishing" a person gets an email from the bank (obviously a fake bank) and it will try to trick you to call a 1-800-number (now, after looking at 1-800-number any person will believe that they are legitimate) and update the account or any other confidencial information. And sources say that if anyone calls those number, they'll notice that the automated service sounds proffessional and real as well.
So, if you get an email which asks you to call an 1-800-number then dont forget to check whether the number provided in that email is a legitimate number or is it a vishhy number. The best way to find out is by going on the bank's website and checking their support number.
