Anyway, that is a different story all together but coming back to the point and that is now after a long time Blogger.com is updated and this time the updated are major updates.
Here are some of the features which have introduced to make things turn in the favour of Blogger.com and there are still certain things which needs to be taken care of by the blogger team. Anyway, we'll discuss them too but lets check out the updates :
1. Powered by AJAX & Google Account : Now, most parts of blogger are powered by Ajax and is connected to Google Account. So, now new users will not need to signup and have a seperate account for blogger.
2. Better Template System : New blogger gives ease to those users who are new and don't know much about HTML and the blogger tags. Now, they allow changes to the templates with ease and the good thing that they have taken care of advanced users too by still keeping the old template method change too.
3. Finally, Categories For Blogger : Old blogger users will know how difficult they used to find when they did'nt get the option of categorizing the posts. Now, blogger has LABELS as categories and gives the ability to the publisher to label the posts. Ah! another work towards the template of Reviewsaurus.
4. New and Better Templates : Blogger now has much more and better templates than before. Specially, the denim template series.
5. Feed Changes : Blogger now has got now better feeds. It now supports ATOM 1.0 and RSS 2.0. Also, it allows users to subscribe to the feed of individual posts too, a feature which other blogging platforms normally don't have.
6. Private Blogging : New blogger now gives a choice to those who want to blog for a certain group of people only and for those who don't want to share the information with all the people. This can be achieved by inviting the people to view the blog with the help of email only.
7. Blog Search Bar : The blogger bar which appeared on the top of every blogspot hosted blog now has better publishing tools and incorporates buttons like New post and customizing of the templates etc.
8. Better Publishing or No Publishing : Blogger now doesn't need to published anymore. Any change in the blog or its setting will publish the blog automatically and new changes will appear instantly.
9. Better Dashboard : The new update Dashboard gives more options and saves 1 or 2 mouse clicks of the publishers.
How Can I Access New Blogger ?
The new blogger is right now not available for each and every old user. However, new users can enjoy the benefits straight away. They need to simply go to http://beta.blogger.com and will be able to enjoy the benefits.
Old users like me will be able to enjoy the new changes soon, we can only hope to get them soon :)
What are the disadvantages of new blogger ?
Well, the changes became so many that the post has become to lengthy to discuss the disadvantages in this post. I'll make another post soon to bring out the disadvantages of the new blogger.
