Can Mac OS X Be The Next Target?

Friday, August 04, 2006

Joris Evers, finds out that there is a heavy update for Apple Mac OSX and this update fixes upto 26 flaws. The flaws are related to file handeling, DHCP networking functionality and many other areas. Infact, on this update Symantec said that it is critical to update the MAC OS X because non-updated computers can be easily targeted by the "Mafia of internet".

Many security companies/agencies told Joris that they are noticing higher number of attacks on MACS. And the companies like McAfee confirm that too.

We all know that Apple is coming out with the Intel version and there is a news that the pirated version of the Mac Intel OSX is already out and many people are using it. Now, it is quite possible that a certain group of hackers/crakcers will try to break the security of Apple's OS because it is for sure that MAC OS X will not be left by pirated software users and will try to use the OS because of it's security features but the fact is that due to less popularity of the OS, it was not the target of the attackers. But, when it will be popular then I am sure it will be under the attack of hackers and security exploiters.
