Google Wants You To Stop Googling!

Google's representatives have recently asked many media companies to stop using Google as a verb. Basically, most of the people on the internet use the term Google instead of searching on the web. You can find this everywhere; be it blogs, forums, various news sites etc. people are so used to Google search that they now think that to search on the internet is "to Google".

Well, if we look at the point of view of Google then we'll say that it is a good step from their side because they are now not confined to only Search and now they have more services and they want to build a reputation and brand in those areas as well. However, If you take my words, I'll say that this is not a nice move from Google because this is giving them free advertisement all the way (although, they don't need any advertising) and this thing has built a brand name for them for years!

Also, if they look into this they can say that they have achieved this not just in search but they are picking this thing in emails as well. Most of my friends now reffer the term email as GMAIL and always say that GMAIL ME.

I know that the GMAIL ME term is still very confined and not used all over the web but soon that will also be the case. Google must remember that they are loved by people as they've been more of a people's company and not a corporate and too proffessional company and they must keep this as their identity and must not switch their thinking and working.
