Aol Opens Up Program For Video Search For Developers

Aol has announced API (application programming interface) of its Video search engines. With the release of the API's, external programmers will be able to integrate the video search engines into various programs.

Applications will be able to integrate the AOL's video index, will allow searching of the videos through keywords and will be able to sort or filter the search results. Not only that the API will also allow programmers to include the RSS of the videos and the best of the lot that is will allow browsing of video clips through category, channel, tag or users.

Release of API's allow the internet companies to extend their applications and that too for free, as various programmers put in lots of efforts to create various usable applications and this way both programmers and internet companies benefit. Google has been using this technique quite effectively.
