Why FaceBook Opened Registration For All?

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Some hours back FaceBook one of the most talked about social networking site these days opened up the registration for everyone on the internet. In this recent move, Facebook now allows anyone to sign up for this extremely popular service, who have a valid email address. Prior to this, Facebook only allowed signups from educational institutes, government agencies etc. only.

In one more news (which is a bit old, around 2-3 days), it was said that Mark Zuckerberg is willing to sell this social networking site for $ 1 Billion or more to Yahoo! Inc. The talks between these two companies are going on and it was rumored that Yahoo offered $ 900 Million to Mark for the aquisition of Facebook.

Well, I guess that it is a trick played by Mark to lure Yahoo Inc. to raise that $ 900 Million mark to $ 1 Billion. Otherwise, there is no other reason of coming up with such a major change while the talks are going on of the acquisition. I guess that this move will definitely make an impact and will compel Yahoo to think over it's deal again. What do you think about it?
