Blogger BetaWe all know that Blogger is getting the makeover and is in beta at this point of time. It is offering both versions at this point of time and is giving the invitation of the switch to old accounts slowly and steadily. I also got the invitation and I was happy to make the switch. Although, I’ve shifted to WordPress for ReviewSaurus but I’m still using Blogger for my personal blog and thus I thought that it will be nice to switch over to blogger beta as it is much better than the old one!

Here’s the picture of the invitation which I got from the Blogger and I was happy enough to except it but that happiness was taken away in some time only and I’ll let you know about that as well :

blogger Beta switch

Now comes the sad part of the story and that is what I lost by switching to blogger beta. After the switch the first thing, I did was to check what all new features, I’ve got in Blogger Beta. Although, I’ve already reviewed Blogger Beta but still after the switch, I got excited to find about the changes and only to see the disappointment.

The changes which affected in negative way :

* No new template system : After the switch there was no option of applying any new template and thus the support of tags or labels was not possible.

* Old content of ReviewSaurus : Unfortunately, the ability of posting comments on the old reviewsaurus i.e. the one powered by blogger is not there anymore. Whenever, someone tries to post a comment on the old reviewsaurus, they are presented with a message saying the blog doesn’t exist.

Well, here are the two blows after the switch over and I am just looking after the resolution towards them. I’ll suggest that before making the switch think twice!

my sliderOnline image sharing has gone extremely popular and day after day, we get to see new and better photo sharing services. Slide.com, Flickr.com, Zoto.com are some of the examples. Today, I would love to present the review of another photo sharing website called MySlider. Before we start with the review, I would like to tell you that mySlider product, comes from the pro’s in image gallery software called ImageFolio. Imagefolio has good an impressive list of clients and includes ESPN, National Geographic, Citrix Systems as their clients. In short, we can trust on this product :)
The concept of mySlider is similar to slide.com, which displays the images in a slide show and makes use of Flash technology to display those amazing photographs taken by you. However, the good thing about mySlider is that it doesn’t need any plugin like flash to display the images in the slide show. Here’s the demo of the mySlider.

Here are some of the plus points of mySlider, which make it a good service :

* No need to sign up : There is no need to sign up for any thing. Anyone can use the service.

* No Banners or ADs on Slideshows : This is where it beats slide.com too. It doesn’t puts any logo or banner or any ad on the slideshows. No one will be able to guess that where exactly your photos are hosted, except that they look at the source code of your webpage :)
* Highly Configurable : mySlider provides lots and lots of options and lets the users control almost all the aspects of the slider.

* No Limit to the uploads : There is no limit to the amount of images you are going to upload. However, there is a limit to the file size of 50 Mb. That is, the file size of one image can’t be more than 50 MB (he he, who’ll be able to see the image of 50 Mb on a computer screen).

Messenger fx logoGod, I am loving this bubble 2.0. This bubble has given so much and has yet more to give to the internet surfers. The first bubble was equally important but this bubble is just too good for bubble 1.0. Anyway, not to take you away with my emotions, i’ll get back to the topic. We’ve had various online messenger from various companies like Google (Not seperatly but included in Gmail, although, I would love to fight with Google engineers that why did’nt they give the same facility in Orkut as well :p), MSN, Yahoo, ICQ etc. and then came Meebo which integrates almost all of them together. But, that is a service from a very well funded company and thus we can expect many features from that service in future. But, we must not forget the good talent which floating online and today I would love to highlight a similar service which is also a web messenger but only allows users to chat with their MSN buddies.

Messenger fx main window

The service is extermely good and provides the basic features of any chat and also supports smilies. The service is developed by Yusuf, a talented developer and he has developed the service using ASP.NET and has MS-SQL as the backbone. The use of MessengerFX can come handy, when you are at your work place :P, where popular sites like Meebo can actually be blocked quite easily and thus anyone who wants to chat with their MSN buddies can easily make use of this service. And hey hurry start using it, before it also comes in the list of very popular services like Meebo and gets blocked by your office’s IT department. Best of luck Yusuf!
