ReviewSaurus – Technology Rocks!

British Airways has installed two Google equipments in their intranet (in simple terms it is a sort of private network and only accessible by a closed group), so that their 48,000 employees can search the important documents with ease.

The interface of the search is exactly similar to Google.Com thus most of the employees will find it simple and easy to use, considering a fact that Google has got more than 50 % market share and that most of the BA users must have been using Google only :)

So, its good to see that Google has now got wings!

Pageflakes has released the new version and they are calling it PageFlakes 2. Pageflakes is a startup page service which was ReviewSaurused some time back (In May 2006). PageFlakes is a nice startup service and has improved a lot since its launch.

The service has got a face lift in this version and most of the features are still the same. However, the good thing in this feature is that it guides the people in the starting about the changes in the form of YELLOW STICKY POSTS. The new interface looks better and seems easy to handle as well.

However, there is a certain group of people who are experiencing the problem in loading their own startup pages. Even, my own account is experiencing certain problems. When, people login to their PageFlakes account to load the pages, it just gives an alert box saying the Page Can not be loaded. The developers are working towards this as it has already been reported to them.

Most of us, understand what Phishing is and how much it is effecting everyone on the internet (If at all you don’t know what phishing is then please read this article.) This is such a big issue that all the big companies like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Symantec & various other big or small security companies are fighting against it and finding it difficult to handle this.

Now, the biggest phishing scams are targeted towards bank websites, PayPal (eBay) and extremely popular websites like Google, Microsoft & Yahoo. Now, the question rises that what ICANN (The body which governs the Top Level Domains) can do to avoid various phishing scams.

Being the supreme authority in managing the TOP LEVEL DOMAINS (TLDs), ICANN can do a lot in avoiding phishing scams and if not completely, it can do a lot in the department of banks. It is to be noted that not everyone can go and register a .GOV or .MIL domain name for e.g. I can’t register a domain like www.reviewsaurus.gov.

Now, it is because, ICANN keeps an eye on these kind of domain names and makes sure that only government bodies can get a domain name like this. So, if that is the case with government bodies then ICANN must bring a new TLD which will only be assigned to registered banks in all over the world, for e.g. something like http://www.citi.bank or http://www.hsbc.bank
What else can be done with this also that ICANN must put a regulation that each and every bank must allow users to do the net banking using the .BANK domain only and not with their .COM domains. This way a user will be aware that they are going to a legitimate site and not the phishing site. What do you think about this, because it is just not you and me but millions of people who can benefit out of it!
