GoogleSaurus - Issue # 2

In this issue we have some of the really important and cool updates which will increase your love to wards Google more and more and you’ll be joining the gang of GoogleSaurus. So, all your Techie Dino’s get ready for some of the nicest updates ever!

Here’s are the updates :

1. Google Patent Search.
2. Google toolbar for Firefox gets updated.
3. Google gives domain names.
4. How Matt Haughey Beat Google?
5. Google releases branded IE 7.
6. Google unsafe search.
7. Google click to call released in India.

Now let’s see what GoogleSaurus says about these updates :

1. Google patent search : The search tool seems good and it is certainly a good card in the deck of Google. There will be many researchers or students who will find it handy. Other than this, I really don’t see any point of this search but yes it may be quite beneficial for those people, who love to update their knowledge.

2. Google toolbar for Firefox gets updated : This is one of the update which was really necessary and I am glad that Google actually thought on this track. I remember that they took the step of improving the toolbar and giving the similar options in the Internet Explorer version of the toolbar. Phew! Google took around NINE MONTHS to give the same features in the Firefox version! Who says Google loves Firefox ?

3. Google gives domain names : This story was covered by me, so you can go ahead and click on the link to find out more about it. In a summary it is good to book a domain from Google. To find out why, go read the article.

4. How Matt Haughey beat Google ? : Anil dash points on some of the really important points where he thinks that Google could have done well in making Google answers a success. Really long article but worth reading!

5. Google releases branded IE 7 : Google has released the new branded version of IE 7. A good way of improving the customer base and also helping Microsoft in spreading this updated and good browser. However, interesting thing was that it created a lot of heat in the whole blogosphere. The point of concern was that someone from Google actually copied the design from Yahoo’s IE 7 Promo page & then we could see our own Matt cutts giving explanation about that & as usual defending Google in his own way :)

6. Google unsafe search : Ionut Alex. Chitu, find out this tool which removes the safety restrictions of Google search and provides you with the search results which were initially filtered by Google search engine.

7. Google Click to call released in India : Google click to call has been released in India. Hmm, interesting but lets see how many advertisers actually opt for this service.
