Recently, I decided to make use of a good blogging software and thus my hunt for a good software started and I chose certain softwares and review them as well. The first one I chose was Windows Live Writer and currently it is in Beta version (Oh my god! finally after such a long time, I’m seeing a software in Beta rather than a website :D). Let’s review this software and lets see where it ranks!
Windows Live Writer, as the name suggests, the software from our favorite and well known company Microsoft. Obviously, if it is from Microsoft we can expect a good and feature rich software and Windows Live Writer is no exception. It is certainly a feature rich and too good to be the best blogging software around. Lets see it’s PROs & CONs :
PROs of Windows Live Writer Beta :
1. Support for most of the blogging platforms : It support most of the blogging platforms and makes sure that it covers almost each and every blogging engine. I’m sure that you’ll find your favourite blogging engine support in this, atleast all of the biggest and trusted blogging platforms.
2. WYSIWYG Editor : It provides WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor and thus it becomes really easy to write the post and you can take control of the things quite easily. It is really really easy to post in a WYSIWYG editor as compared to HTML or XHTML based editor.
3. Template support : One of the most amazing features of Windows live writer is that although, it has WYSIWYG editor but it also has the template support. That means it will display exactly same font, font size, color etc while typing as you’ll see it on the website. It moulds itself according to your defined template and thus you get extra comfort, while writing the blog post.
3. Nice Image Editor : It has got a nice image editor, I won’t call it a big image editor but it has got good options to serve your needs. You’ll need a basic image editor, as simple as Microsoft Paint and it can help you in putting effects like shadow effect and that too quite easily.
4. Support for FTP uploads of media files : It also lets you upload your images or other media files easily through the help of FTP and you don’t have to do anything special for it. Simply insert any image in the posts and it will upload the image on the fly while publishing the post.
5. Tags support for various services : It also lets you put tags in your posts for various service providers like Technorati, Flickr, Del.Icio.us etc. and let you configure new tag providers too. Thus the flexibility is also present in the software.
6. Various small but useful options : It has got extensive list of small but very useful features like Spell checker, auto save, html editing, insertion of maps, blog search engine ping, plugin support etc. The features are extermely good and makes it the perfect blogging software.

Google has recently added the Google Page Creator and Google Personalised homepage services for the users of Google Apps. I’ve been using the Google apps for two domains and I find it really handy as it provides the 2 GB email account, calendar, Google page creator and the start page service and that too for free.
However, I was using the service for quite sometime but I failed to activeate the Google Start Page service in Google Apps. Now, I’ve added it and thus I would like to share that how you can do it for your domain as well.
In order to activate the Google start page service or Google page creator for your domain, you just need to login to your email in Google Apps and then you’ve got to click on Manage This Domain. In that you’ll find Add/Remove Services and from there you can add or remove the services for your domain easily :)

Holidays are coming and I am sure that you are ready with your shining and glittering camera to click the photographs of your loved ones or may be using your handycam to shoot the video of your little ones. But, the problem comes when you go ahead and try to share the same with your friends and family members and that too without making those files public on Youtube or Flickr.
Another scenario can be that you want to share a big presentation file or bunch of office documents which are over 20-30 MB but are not able to find out the way of sharing it because your email provider is not giving you the power of sending emails over 10 MB. There may be various scenario’s like this where you wanted to share something which was bigger in size and you just don’t have the email service which will allow you to send the documents over 10 MB or may be your friends or family members are still stuck with that 10 MB mailbox!
To solve this, there is a program and service which lets you send the attachment of up to 1 GB at one time. The software will be installed on your computer and then you signup for the service and then just specify the files or folder which you want to send to your friends and it will create a small file with an extension .pando
That .pando file is sent across to your friends and they can use Pando at their end to transfer whole of data from your computer directly or from pando’s servers. In case you are wondering on how exactly it works then Pando has made it clear in the most simplest way.

In the first issue of GoogleSaurus, I would like to explain you first about GoogleSaurus. GoogleSaurus, is a series of posts which will have links to external blog posts, news or tools related to Google.
GoogleSaurus will not only help me but it will also help you as it will provide you the links to latest information related to Google and that too without making any efforts. I’d different plans with GoogleSaurus but for the time being I’m going to keep it running as the series of post. I may come up with a new logo for GoogleSaurus, however, I think my creative juices have dried up completely and due to which I was not at all able to make the new logo. There is no fixed time of GoogleSaurus, It will have at least 7 links to different stories or tools and whenever I’ll have enough posts or stories to link up, I’ll release the new issue of GoogleSaurus.
In the first issue of GoogleSaurus, we have :
1. Google shuts down Google Answers.
2. Researchers & bloggers want Google Answers service.
3. Google Reader gets updated once again.
4. Google Display Advertising Network.
5. Preview Gmail messages before opening them.
6. Google promotes WORLD AIDS DAY.
7. Google Audio Ads revealed.
