Microsoft has started the promotional campaign of Windows Vista with WOW! Not sure about other countries but at least in India, Microsoft is making use of Coffee and Bollywood stars. So, the answer to the question (topic is the question) is YES. I recently, visited Cafe Coffee Day (as the name suggests, its a cafe chain in India) and I was surprised or rather Wowed to see the windows vista goodies and dedicated menu card in the shape of Windows vista logo. Apart from that, one can also order a coffee which they’ve named it as WOWFFEE!

They have also started a campaign where they are asking people to submit their photographs, so that the world can rate them and the top rated photos will get Windows Mobile Smart Phone. It seems that Google is now doing what it should have done a long time back and that is integrating all the services in each other. Although, Google is over here only displaying the ad of Picasa in Orkut, but I think it’s high time that they must integrate Picasa in Orkut, just like they’ve integrated it with Blogger.

When I was trying to search some blogging desktop client, I didn’t know that there were so many blogging softwares available and after writing reviews about many free blogging softwares and just one shareware blogging software, I decided to write more and more reviews of blogging clients so that I can help you choose the best blogging software. Well, today I reviewed BlogJet and found it simple but powerful. Let’s look at the some of the features and lets find out where it needs improvement.

PROS of BlogJet :

1. Simple and easy to use interface : BlogJet has a very simple and good looking interface and on top of it, it is quite simple to use as well. Most of the features are available in one click only and thus blogging becomes quite simple.

2. Support for blogging platforms : BlogJet supports most of the blogging softwares and auto discovery of blogging platform ensures that those who are new to blogging, don’t get confused a lot and that they can setup the blog quite easily.

3. Stable software : Absolutely no problems of crashing or anything like that. Also, they seem to update the software quite regularly and thus in case you do experience any problem, you can expect that you’ll not have that problem for long.

4. WYSIWYG & XHTML Editor : It has got WYSIWYG and XHTML editor and thus allows basic and pros to easily make the changes in the posts. This ensures that the software covers all the type of bloggers.

5. Audio recording & easy YouTube integration : The software has the capabilities of recording the voice and saves the audio file in WAV format and the file is not big either (15 sec audio was somewhat near about 80 KB) and lets people integrate the YouTube video quite easily. One has to just insert the URL of the video and that automatically inserts the video.

6. Lets you save posts in specified location : With blogjet you can save all your posts anywhere on the hard drive and thus you always have a peace of mind as you have a back up of all those posts which you’ve written with so much hard work.

7. Small but useful features : BlogJet has very useful features like Tagging and good thing is that one can customize the tagging service (by default, its Technorati), Pinging (again configurable), Auto complete is one of the feature which I liked the most what it does is that if you repeating a certain text or link again and again then you can simply create a shortcut for it and BlogJet will automatically complete it for you, Spell checker and one more good feature was that it shows you stats of your blogging habits. It also lets you to insert the images directly from your Flickr account.

8. Excellent Support : They’ve got an excellent support team. They respond to your request in almost 24 hrs. only where as I’ve experienced myself with other software companies that there turn around time is quite late. Some of them didn’t even respond. So, I think that pre & after sales service also matters and they are good at that.

As discussed in the last post that wordpress 2.1 has got lot of changes in it and one of the changes, which I would like to discuss specifically, is that wordpress 2.1 truncates the content of the post in feeds in case you use the MORE tag in your posts. More tag is helpful in increasing the pageviews and thus the use of it certainly good and publishing full feeds is also one of the better options as we’ve discussed earlier.

So, to overcome this particular problem, you can use the full feed plugin from cavemonkey50.com and that will display the full feeds without worrying about the fact that you are using more tag.

However, most of the users will complain that full feeds actually reduce the page views too, so to overcome this particular problem we can make use of Related posts plugin and related posts in feed hack from Tech buzz. What will happen is that not only you’ll be able to see the related posts in the pages but also in the feeds and thus the page views can be increased even though you’ll release the full feeds.

Well, the upgrade to Wordpress 2.1 was not as sweet for me as for others. Due to the upgrade, my old theme stopped working, as it was not compatible with this new version. This has taught me a lesson and I would share a tutorial with you in future, on how you can avoid these kinds of situations.

Apart from that Automatic (the company behind wordpress) has done a great job with wordpress 2.1 and the new features which wordpress has provided are really good.

There is a hidden feature in Wordpress 2.1 and that is that it has got some extra buttons in the visual editor and they can be activated with the help of some shortcuts.
