thinkfree.jpgThinkFree will formally launch the API (Application programing interface), a tool that will allow web developers to host the file on their servers and let their users to view and edit the office documents directly from their servers.

Users will be able to view and edit office documents like Documents, spreadsheets and presentation files and these services can be included in your application through the help of ThinkFree’s API. With the release of API, they are also planning to announce the partnership with various companies and the one which will certainly help them will be the one with Jive Software as Jive Software has made use of this API in ClearSpace (Which is an enterprise level application, that combines blogs, wikis, forum, chats etc.)

This release will certainly increase the competition in the online office services, Zoho has already released the API’s and which has been already used by the services like OmniDrive, Box.Net etc. So, the competition is getting tougher and tougher and as a user, you can expect better and better services :).
