ReviewSaurus – Technology Rocks!

Social networking is definitely hot and all the big shots like Myspace, Bebo, Facebook, Orkut are doing extremely good and are looked as one of the biggest money makers. These are not the only sites which are into providing social networking but there are many others and new and new social networks are coming up with something different or targeting a specific community. In India, Yaari.com & DesiMartini are the some of the websites which are targeting the ever increasing interent population of India (in social network market) but Orkut is still ruling the hearts of Indians and still the number social networking website in India.

Now, Reliance Anil Dhiru Bhai Ambani’s entertainment section has come up with a social networking website called Big Adda (Adda is a Hindi word which means hang out place). Big Adda looks much more cleaner as compared to Yaari & DesiMartini & they’ve got almost all the features of a social networking website like blogs, photos, videos and communities and have done a pretty neat job (One can expect from Reliance ADA) but the problem is that they’ve not brought anything new which will actually attract the mob from Orkut or other competitors.

Yaari took the help of Apple IPOD Nano’s but Big Adda is not looking interested in any thing like that, I guess they should make use of ADLABS (another venture of Reliance ADA) to attract the section of Indian society which is crazy about movies and bollywood or they may give out prizes and goodies related to films and they’ll be able to attract lots of youngsters and the good thing about it is that Reliance ADA can do it easily as they are not dependent on funds at least. What do you think, can Big Adda be the number 1 Social networking site in India or not?

Google released this when I’m not sure about it (But, its fairly new as it has the tag new by it) but here’s something which I’ve recently noticed while using Google Blog Search. The new feature which I’m discussing is that now you can subscribe the results of your blog searches in Google Reader.

This is how you can do that :

1. Open Google Blog Search.
2. Make a search…..
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for a line which says : Subscribe to a blog search feed for YOUR SEARCH TERM in Google Reader!
4. Click on it & then click on the Subscribe button in Google Reader.
5. Done.

Vinod reviewed Active @ File Recovery software (Enterprise edition) and has found it to be one of the better softwares in the category of Data recovery softwares. Vinod finds some of the features pretty useful and has listed them in his blog post :

Google Adsense team is asking publishers to fill out a survey which will help the Adsense team to improve Google Adsense and in reward they are promising to give away IPOD and better Google Adsense program (Needless to say, I’ll love to have both of them).

The link provided in the e-mail is specific to every user, so I’ll not publish it over here but if you’ve not received any such email then please go ahead and check out your spam folder and I’m sure you’ll find the email (I don’t see any reason for the email to land up in SPAM folder), if you still don’t find an email like this then I’m not sure if this will work or not, but you can always send an email to Adsense support and ask for another email to be sent to you. Today, I was making use of StumbleUpon and as usual I found a great website which supports and encourages users to install Linux on their machines. I’m sure every Linux user and fan would love to give Hugs to the creator (Manu Cornet) of the website. The name of the website says it all : Why Linux Is Better.

Manu has included each and every possible answer to the questions which are raised by supporters of Microsoft Windows and in fact has given the options where he’ll not suggest you to switch to Linux. Overall, its a very genuine effort from Manu and I appreciate his work.

Apart from that, Ubuntu has released the first issue (although it’s called Issue # 0) of Full circle magazine which will cover the information about Ubuntu, open source and technology related to Linux.
