FeedDemon is a desktop based feed reader for windows based computers. Originally it was developed by Nick Bradbury and then later FeedDemon was purchased by Newsgator. FeedDemon has got great reputation as a software in the category of Feed Readers, so lets check out the PROS & CONS of FeedDemon :

PROS of FeedDemon :

1. Easy to use interface : FeedDemon is a two pane feed reader and so the list of blogs is on the left and the feed items are on the right hand side. Similar feeds can be arranged in folders and the content can be sorted easily by date or time, by feed and by title of the posts. Keyboard shortcuts make the navigation quite easy and all the shortcuts are configurable, so one can easily change them according to their preference. The sleek and pleasing looking interface makes feed reading a joy.

Integration with Newsgator online : FeedDemon can easily synchronize with Newsgator online that means even if you are away from your computer and are using the online newsgator account then the feeds read and unread count will not differ, when next time you’ll use your FeedDemon and this feature gives it extra boost as compared to other feed reading softwares (desktop based).

3. Easy Sync with your portable media player : FeedDemon has got FeedStation which automatically downloads the enclosure’s in the posts or any other podcast and then easily syncs them with your IPOD or any other portable media player. NewsAlloy, which is an online feed reader and closely resembles to Gmail and looks as a promising online feed reader service. NewsAlloy uses Ajax based UI and that gives the feeling as if we are using a local software. Lets look at the PROS & CONS of News Alloy :

Familiar & easy to use interface : By far this is the best part of NewsAlloy that it has got the interface which looks like an email application and on top of it, it looks very similar to Gmail and I’m sure most of the Gmail lovers will just bounce from their seats after looking at the closeness of the interface.
