Google Gears is a small utility which was launched by Google as an extension for Google Reader. This utility allows you to download the posts for offline viewing and then later synchronizes them when you go online.
This can be extremely handy for those who want to check the RSS feeds while they are not connected to the internet or they may want to invest time in going through the feeds.
There are many features & benefits of using Google Gears and here are some of them :
1. Works with Internet explorer and Firefox (didn’t check any other), I think it will work with each browser which runs Google Reader.
2. Feeds work much faster as it doesn’t load up any images & doesn’t refreshes after every few minutes, thus doesn’t use up the memory of the computer regularly.

Today I have the pleasure of posting the email interview that I conducted recently with Nirmal of Life Rocks! 2.0 (one my favorite blogs and successful blogs from India). This interview is the first of the Interview series which I’m going to run on ReviewSaurus. Let’s find out more about Nirmal and his blog :

My blog is Life Rocks! 2.0 which was started by me in October 2005. It was completely a personal blog then and I never knew the existence of tech blogs. I came to blogging just by shear curiosity. My friend had a blog in blogger, so I too decided to try out blogging. In March 2007 Life Rocks moved to own domain and hence was renamed to Life Rocks! 2.0. Recently I started a new blog for cell phone reviews at Cellularized.com.
3. What are your goals for your blog & what benefits do you see in blogging?
Initially blogging was just my hobby, but now blogging is my passion. Benefits of blogging are getting more knowledge about various topics which you are interested in and of course money. But it always takes time to get a good income from blog.
4. What sets you apart from other blogs?
The main difference with my blog is that I don’t blog about technology alone. I cover a vast area like Internet, blogging, Cell phones, softwares, life, my views and also the latest news in focus. This has really proved advantageous to me.
5. Do you have any suggestions for other bloggers or any success secret, which you’d like to share with us ?

You go about selecting and chaning them all. After you are done with it, and feel you can finally take a break, another request may crop up:

I hope you understand now, when I say it can drive you insane.
So, here is a tip that you save you all the trouble. continue reading »
