I’ve just installed the Top commentator widget on my blog and I think that its better than maintaining a blog roll. The reason for that is not only, it encourages your readers to comment on your blog posts but it rewards them equally, as you are helping those people, who love your blog and comment on your blog regularly rather than helping those, who really don’t know who you are! (I’m talking about A-Listers).
I think, its fair enough to share the link love with those who take the effort of posting comments on your blog rather than those bloggers who just take efforts in the starting and after getting listed in the blog roll, tend to forget your blog completely.
I was trying to install the Show Top Commentator Plugin first, however, due to some unknown reason, it just failed to work me. Nirmal tried to help me a lot but nothing seemed to work for me, so I headed towards Top Commentator Widget. Thanks a lot Nirmal for all your efforts, I guess it was my bad luck only, which didn’t make it work properly

Zoho meeting is another wonderful application from the Zoho Team. It is remote desktop sharing service and lets you display your desktop to other users and even better that if you want them to take control of the your desktop then you can give control to them as well. Zoho meeting was available in closed beta however, it is now open for everyone. Currently, it’s in beta but still it does the task really well.
Feature of Zoho Meeting :
- It’s Free!
- Works with all browsers (Provided you are using Flash or Java based viewer).
- Has three types of viewers to meet the requirement. ActiveX based, Java based and flash based.
- Chat with other users.
- Take control of the desktop of the presenter.
- Can be embedded in blogs or web pages.

Zoho meeting is really a nice way of remote desktop sharing, although it was a bit slow but I guess that’s more because of my slow internet connection and nothing because of Zoho. With the release of Zoho meeting, Zoho is becoming the complete online office package and now is giving competition to Webex (which is already the market leader in remote desktop sharing) but can it be better than Webex at all ?

Virtual DVD drives are really handy because there are various discs which we tend to use regularly and there is always a risk of damaging those discs because of scratches etc.
Especially, the CD/DVD of games are always at risk, because they are the ones which we use regularly or sometimes the DVDs of movies too. So, in this case the best thing to do is that we can make an image of these important CD or DVDs and then play them from the hard drive with the help of Virtual CD/DVD drive or you can say an emulator of CD/DVD drive. Daemon Tools is one such Virtual drive emulator. Lets find out the PROS and CONS of Daemon Tools :
PROS of Daemon Tools :
1. Supports major image files : Daemon tools supports most of the image file formats and thus it becomes convenient for you, as it doesn’t matter with which software you’ve created the image. It supports Cue/Bin, ISO, CCD, BWT, MDS, CDI, NRG, PDI, B5T, ISZ image formats.
2. Plays even protected CD/DVDs : Daemon tools runs almost each and every protected cd image and supports Safedisk, Securom, Laserlock, Lockblocks, Starforce, CDCOPS & ProtectCD.
3. Uses very less memory : Because it doesn’t have any user interface with frills (it only works through system tray, unless you’ve installed some plugin) it uses very less memory. Currently it is using just over 3 Mb of memory on my computer.
4. Free & various 3rd party tools : Daemon tools is free and there are various other 3rd party tools which extend the power of Daemon tools. Although, as a normal user, you’ll not need any of those tools. Interested users can always visit this page to find the 3rd party tools for Daemon tools.
CONS of Daemon Tools :

USB Flash drives are really useful, when it comes to sharing the files in the quickest way or for keeping the important documents handy all the time. iBall has launched 4 GB cutility series of USB Flash drives and Shivaranjan has reviewed the USB drive and found it extremely good. He has provided the screen shots of the USB drive (the one on the left is not the actual iBall drive but an image by Billy. Thanks for the image!) and various other specs of the drive. Here are some of the points which Shivaranjan has pointed :
PROS of the USB Flash Drive :
| Benchmark Parameter |
Value |
| Transfer Rate |
14.7 MB/s |
| Access Time |
0.7 ms |
| Write Speed |
7.5 MB/s |
| Burst Rate |
14.7 MB/ |
Which are almost exact as claimed by iBall. The drive comes with hand strap and storage case to keep it safe and the price is also right for a 4 Gb Flash drive.
CONS of the USB Flash Drive :
Shivaranjan found out that the drive was good, however its build quality was not up to the mark and thinks that it could have been better.

Cnet’s webware was running the best 100 web 2.0 site contest and had listed many web based applications under various categories and asked the people to vote for the best ones. Finally, the list is out and the Top web 2.0 applications, which were chosen by you are as follows :
1. Browsing : And the winner is Firefox! There was never a doubt that it will be a winner, in this section.
2. Communications : And the winner is GMail! Again, no wonder that GMail was the winner. Skype was placed on 4th number, I would have loved to see it in the top three. It actually deserves that no. 1 spot too.
3. Community : And the winner is Gaia! Believe me never heard of it. I though Myspace, Bebo would have swept the no. 1 place but I think Myspace or Bebo still don’t have the community which can vote for them. Congratulations to Gaia for proving that having a strong community is more important in winning contests :D
4. Data : And the Winner is Google! No comments!
5. Entertainment : And the winner is Stardoll! Again, I’ve heard of it for the first time. But all the kids will actually love the concept and will be able to make new friends using this impressive service.
6. Media : And the winner is YouTube! I think you know it better, so you comment!
7. Mobile : And the winner is GMail Mobile Application! No wonder, after all GMail seems to be the most liked application in communications section.
8. Productivity and commerce : And the winner is Ebay! Again, there was never a doubt that people love to do the business on Ebay and it will be the winner for sure.
9. Publishing : And the winner is Wordpress! After all, I use it, you use it and millions of others use it! It had to be the winner. I firmly believe that, it is the best blog platform available till this date.
10. Reference : And the winner is WikiPedia! This was always on the cards. WikiPedia is one of the greatest source of knowledge and people love it and it truly deserves this award!
With this competition, there are various things which gets clear and lots of them which are still unclear and lets look at both the things :
