Wordpress logoAll in one SEO is a great Wordpress plugin which helps you work on the very basics of Search Engine Optimization. I’m no Search engine expert but with what I’ve noticed in these 2 years of blogging and what many blogging gurus and SEO’s have told that if we stick to basics also, then also we can get search engine love.

Here’s what it is capable of :

1. Allows you to change the Homepage Title : OK, you can do that by editing the template files but what if someone is not comfortable with the codes. I’m sure you’ll find it much useful then editing the code yourself.

In my case, the title used to be ReviewSaurus : The Techie Dino! but now it’s Software reviews and free downloads – ReviewSaurus : The Techie Dino! This way I made sure that I make use of the correct keywords in the Title.

2. Specify keywords for Homepage & posts: You can specify the Meta keywords for the Homepage. Again, it can be done by editing the file but those keywords become general for Homepage and post pages too. So, you get to specify different keywords for Homepage and posts.

For e.g. Check out this post’s heading and Title.

3. Allows you to change the post titles : We all know the importance of keywords in the URL and the TITLE of the pages. So, with the help of All in one SEO, I ensure that I create a headline which has got the keywords and looks like headline (Wordpress automatically inserts the words of headlines in the URL) and with ALL in one SEO, I ensure that I use the proper keywords in Title. So, I get to specify the keywords in both the places!

4. Allows to disable indexing of Categories and Archives : This makes sure that your content is considered as copied material and is kept out of Google’s supplemental index. And as we all know that Less pages in supplemental index means better search rankings!

This plugin, is a must install for every Wordpress user and I’m sure that proper use will help a lot in the search engine rankings of your blog posts.

I use individual plugins for the above functions. I wonder if there is a plugin to prevent indexing of such categories and archives only.

Nevertheless, I ll try this out soon.!

Wow its cool. But i prefer installing and editing different plugins to my needs. The another con with this pack’s meta thing is that its not compatible if you a private description of your blog in metas!

I’m a huge fan of this plugin. It is probably one of the most important ones to use in my opinion and my search traffic has gone through the roof since I started using it.

I’m slowly going through old posts and updating them to custom title/tags/descriptions because, well, i’m obsessed!

@ Kyle : Well, any one will become fan of this cool plugin :) I’m also making the changes in the Titles of my old posts. It is important to change the content of the posts, as updated content is always loved by search engines.
