It seemed to me that Google wasn’t really keen to make Orkut look really the standard of the social networks. They were happy enough to see it growing in Brazil and India and were enjoying its success or may be they were worried about the various political pressures from these countries; call it Brazil’s orders of checking the data or India’s small groups’ constant rebels against Orkut or may be women having problems in using Orkut in India.
But, now it seems that they are out of the success of Orkut in these countries and want to make it more global and want to expand in other countries too. It’s good to see them improve the design of Orkut and that they are thinking of releasing the APIs and that they want to share the social data with developers.

Mixpad is a multi track editing software from NCH Swift Sound. This is the second software from the NCH factory next to Wavepad that I am reviewing now. Mixpad allows the user to edit any imported sound file or record your own voice or music and then edit it. Like Wavepad, this program also allows the user to add infinite number of tracks and mix them. Individual mixers adjacent to each track eases the task of basic mixing options like panning, volume control etc.
The FX button brings up the Effect Chain window which offers various effects like echo, distortion, reverb, flanger, chorus and most importantly the graphic equalizer.
Easy editing features like add or delete track, increase/decrease mix time, and the large buttons at the bottom make the use of this software easy in editing.

Here is an online music composing tool which can be used even by the layman to create some real good music. This online music tool takes a longer time to grasp. But a little tweaking and playing around with all the controls will enable the user to create some serious music. With no prior music knowledge required!
The screen is divided into four parts, a navigation bar to the left, a note editor on the top, a guitar on the right and an instruments list at the bottom. The instruments list offers an impressive collection of loops under each category which can be simply clicked on in order to add the loop to the song we are ‘composing’. The volume of each individual instrument loop can be controlled by just clicking and dragging the levels adjacent to the instruments.
The chords can be added by either clicking on the ‘Quick Chords’ tab near the note editor or by clicking on the guitar riff, again both very easy and demanding no prior knowledge of music or chords.

After reviewing screen capture softwares like SnagIt, I hardly expected any other software to impress me much but this one did!
CaptureWiz Pro is smart software with an innovative interface which seems to know exactly what a user wants. Let me elaborate on its smartness a little further.
Strengths
1. Interface
You might not like the default golden color of the small window that pops up when you start the software, but you will surely be impressed with its contents. It has a top panel with icons clearly listing the various ways you can obtain a capture from your screen. To add to your convenience, there is a comprehensive list of activities below which allows you to chose your action making life a little simpler for you

2. Features
I never expected this small window to be so affluent in features. The scroll capture feature is quite unique and so is its ability to capture audio only. The Frame capture tool makes capturing a region on the screen a far more user friendly experience. I also found its auto hide feature pretty useful. And yes, don’t forget to use its cool stickies tool!
