process-scanner ProcessLibrary is one of the excellent and free service from UniBlue (Review of other UniBlue products) which is a huge database of processes which run on windows machines. It provides detailed information about the processes and lets you view the processes after a quick scan and sort them by Running processes, Modules and all the processes.

It provides detailed information, like what the software is about, about the developer of the software, safety level, Startup details of the files etc.

logo Its nice being back after a long hiatus at ReviewSaurus and when I stumbled upon this software; I couldn’t ask for more! At last, a software for those who can’t invest in Pioneer equipment and still are perfectionists when it comes to creating music. The first thing that strikes the user is the complex clutter of dials and displays making it more or less resemble a F-18 cockpit; but as I told, this thing is for the pros who have an eye for perfection.

The features that make ProtoPlasm a viable option are Super Modulation Morphing, Modulation Matrix, a high pass filter and a low pass filter each, three digital PCM-wave oscillators sourced by 128 waveforms (though I haven’t tried everything) “sample and hold option, stereo delay, Low Frequency Oscillation. Phew! Quite a stuff! Isn’t it? After all this jargon, it isn’t that difficult to work in this software. A little bit of tweaking around in this Windows based program and a little previous knowledge of music and other music making software is all that is required to master this software.

spy-eraser Spywares have been a big problem for everyone and we all need a software which can help us fight these crappy objects. Anyway, there are lot of free spyware software available on the Internet and I’ve always been a supporter of SpyBot – Search & Destroy.

Today we’ll look at SpyEraser, one of the popular products from UniBlue (A Microsoft Gold Certified Partner). At first look, SpyEraser looks just like other UniBlue products and that’s wonderful because if you use one of their products then you’ll face no problem in using this software. Otherwise too, the interface of SpyEraser is quite simple and provides ease of use.

Do a free scan of your computer and find out if is infected from spywares or not!

What Impresses me :

1. Offers two scanning mode : It provides two scanning mode, quick and deep scan.

2. Works on Heuristic threat analysis : This means that it will not alert you about those spyware which are in it’s database but it will also alert you about those unknown spywares which work on a certain pattern. Thus, it takes care of most of the spywares.

3. Real time guard : Real time guard ensure that it lets you take decisions about various changes which spywares make, for e.g. it takes care of Browser helper objects, allows you to put some sites in the safe list, Internet Explorer extensions. Apart from Internet related activity, it takes care of startup process, running process, registry changes and allows you to block programs too.

We are using MediaTemple as our web host and our sites were down for almost 9 hrs. ! Now, that’s not good thing if you are using a premium web host but still, I’ll say that it’s better that one should MediaTemple and here’s the reason :

MediaTemple had already informed us that there is a scheduled maintenance of around 6 hrs. however, due to some complications the downtime increased to 3 more hrs. Of course, I felt bad about it, however, my patience level kept me from ranting and whining about it. I wanted to ask for some compensation however, I just kept myself patient enough because I understand that *shit* happens!

However, after that next day I received an email which said that I’ve been given 2 months of free hosting as a compensation. I know it can be a huge loss to those who are making good money from their blogs but this incident suggests that they care about their clients.

These are some of the points which we can take up from this incident (both positives and negatives) :

1. There was a long downtime of 9 hours. (They were polite, informed us before hand and accepted their fault.)
2. Provided the 2 months of free hosting.
