I’m once again trying to switch to Linux and the whole and sole reason for that is not that I’m pissed off by Windows but the only reason is that I want to always test this that I can live online I.e. I always want to be OS independent.Let’s hope that my fight ends this time. I’ve installed Kubuntu and I still have to figure out few things but I’m sure that I’ll be able to manage and I don’t why but this time I’m getting a feeling that I won’t be OS dependent anymore.

Pray for me! I’m not sure about others but those M$ haters must be praying for me for sure :)

Adobe AIR Beta 3 version has been released almost an hour ago. The new Beta 3 looks more and more cool and has added some really important features in it and so far is way ahead of the Mozilla’s Prism (our review).

For those who are still wondering that what exactly AIR is, then here’s the small introduction to Adobe AIR :

Adobe AIR lets developers use HTML, AJAX, FLASH, FLEX to deploy the Internet applications to the local desktop. This new version comes with the following updates :

• Applications built on Adobe AIR Beta 3 can register to run at start-up/log-in.
• Web Launcher provides the ability to detect and launch an installed AIR application from a web browser.
• Support for H.264 video and Advanced Audio Coding (AAC).
• Full Screen Hardware acceleration.
• Flash within HTML Support allows Flash content to be integrated within HTML based applications.
• Adobe AIR also supports automatic runtime updates, similar to how Adobe Flash Player can be updated.
• Thawte (http://www.thawte.com/) offers an Adobe AIR developer certificate, so developers can certify applications built on Adobe AIR are from a trusted source.
• Support for the Mac OSX Leopard operating system.

This has to be the best gift to all Indian PayPal users from PayPal. Now, PayPal allows you to the electronic transfer of your funds in PayPal to your bank account in India.

It used to take around 22-23 days earlier if we used the check delivery service but now with this service we’ll be able to receive the money with in 5-7 business days (far less than what used to before).

In order to withdraw money to your bank account, you need to add your bank account information and at this time only limited banks are supported but thankfully for me, my bank account is supported!

The list of banks which are supported at this time by PayPal :

State Bank of India, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, ING VYSYA Bank, UTI Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC & Citibank.

On July 5th, 2007, Microsoft filed a patent for a new “advertising services structure” which discusses the points that how ads will be delivered to a consumer. Now, if we go through the patent you’ll see that how the points say that how Microsoft can make use of your usage habits to display the advertisements.

Specifically Points 8 & 11 of the patent talk about what can be the possibility of Free windows! The points say that Microsoft’s computer-readable medium can make use of URL, Text strings, email, user music files, user documents, podcasts files, computer status messages to display the advertisement.

Google uses your searching habits to display the advertising and provides most of their services for free, so with this patent Microsoft may provide Windows for free provided a person is ready to see the ads on the applications or documents etc.

We all know that how cool Gmail is and that most of us now live on Gmail however, there are few things which needs to addressed by Gmail engineers. Gmail has been updated recently by Google engineers and few of them are :

1. Group chat in Gmail chat.
2. Colored Labels & AIM integration

However, here’s what they need to fix :

1. If I want to stay in the Basic HTML view it loads the standard version after I login again. This never used to happen with the older version but now even if I switch to older version and try to stay in the Basic HTML view, it loads the standard version after a re-login.

2. Provide the colored labels, AIM integration to Google Apps users too.
