PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is a software & encryption algorithm which is used for encrypting & decrypting email messages for reliable email communication. There is a long and very confusing history behind PGP and if any of you is interested in knowing more about it, I’ll suggest to refer to this Wikipedia article on PGP.
Every now and then we hear news and concerns raised by people that the email communication is not safe and that it can be easily compromised. And still there is no effective and widely accepted encryption or (credible) security system for emails.

Although, PGP was developed in 1991 and is credible and accepted system but it isn’t the de-facto of the secure email communication yet. Although, more the people will use it, more it will become inevitable for companies like Yahoo & Google to implement it on their servers.
Anyway, till the time these services don’t apply this encryption algorithm, we can use Windows Privacy Tools or WinPT which is a free alternative to the PGP software and allows you to sign or encrypt email messages for secure email communication.
But the real question is that why is it important to have secure email conversation ?

Freemusiczilla is a software which helps you record the streaming media from various services. There are services like Last.Fm, Pandora, esnips, YouTube etc. which allows you listen to music for free on the Internet, however, you can’t download and play them locally (theoretically).
There are many software which allow you to record the music or record videos from these services and let you play them locally and the recent addition to these tools is Freemusiczilla. As the name suggests, this software helps you get music for free and thus giving a helping hand in the Media Piracy.
In my tests it worked wonderfully with almost each and every popular streaming service. One of my favorite download manager, Orbit Downloader (review of Orbit Downloader) is also capable of recording the streaming media.
All in all, it’s a wonderful software when it comes to capturing streaming media as it’s very light weight (just above 500 Kb) and doesn’t take too much resources (while running it was taking near about 6 Mb of RAM).
Few words of caution!

IE7Pro is an add-on which gives additional feature boost to Internet Explorer and provides so many features which can make Internet Explorer comparable to Firefox or Opera (when it comes to additional features like Download manager, spell checker, mouse gestures, user plug-ins etc.).
Guys at IE7Pro released the new version yesterday and IE7Pro has performed in a much better way from the last time I checked it. It has got a download manager, which allows you to pause and resume the downloads and is now available for the Windows XP, Vista 64 bit editions too.

Next in the Thank You! series, I would like to all the millions of developers who volunteer for these amazing Open-Source projects, which I’ve used over the years. Not only that the whole Open-Source initiative deserves a cheer from all of us! Anyway, here are the open-source software which I’ve used and their reviews :
1. Gimp (Gimp Review) : Gimp has been the best image editor which is tad close to Photoshop. No matter how much people say but I’ll say that it’s not the best if Photoshop is in the line, but if we check free alternatives then there is no comparison to Gimp.
Here’s the list of 40 + plugins of Gimp – A great list compiled by an excellent blogger and my friend Sumesh.
2. Pidgin (Pidgin Review) : This is my second favorite multi-messenger software. The first one being Kopete but I’ve kept Pidgin in the list and not Kopete because it is only available for Linux but Pidgin runs on almost every platform.
Here’s the Purple Pack of plugins for Pidgin – A must have for all Pidgin users.
3. Mozilla Firefox (Firefox Review) : Well, I guess my thank you series is still not over for this great browser. Here’s what I think about Firefox.
4. Mozilla Thunderbird (Thunderbird Review) : When it comes to emails, the two software hit my mind straight away one is Mozilla Thunderbird and Evolution (there is a windows version of Evolution too but unfortunately, it doesn’t justify’s evolutions name in Windows.).
5. OpenOffice.org (OpenOffice review) : Undoubtedly, the free and best office application. It’s a perfect alternative for MS-Office. Nothing more can be said about it.
