twitter Well, after the success of Darren’s letter to Adsense, I thought that I should give a try to write an open letter myself. Although, it’s evident that in my case it won’t be a success and that it will definitely fall in the deaf ears. Still, I want to try and see if the postman can deliver this letter to the right people, if not then yeah it can stay as one of the piece in the web’s history :

Dear Twitter,

You rock, you are great and you are amazing. However, I have to say that many a times you suck, you suck and you suck! I wanted to write a thank you letter to you, unfortunately you are just making it difficult for me as your services are getting bad instead of improving.

What hurts me is that you are not taking time to improve the features when I see others are improving a lot, look at Pownce they allow file sharing, makes posting of links easier, plays audio, video and yes how can we forget the images too. But, I don’t see that with you at all.

flickrdown

Google’s Picasa Web Albums allows you to download the whole image set easily as it provides you a simple link to download the whole set or album. However, this is not possible with Flickr.

FlickrDown is a small and excellent utility which lets you download the images from Flickr and the good thing is that you can select the images from specific username, tags, sets and it becomes really easy for you to download the images.

I used the program and it works flawlessly, you’ll require .net 2.0 in order to run it on your computer and you’ll need to authorize to let you download the images and you can do that simply by clicking on the button authorize.

digg-upside Well, as we see that most of the blogs are talking about the recent changes in the Digg’s algorithm so I thought that let me push my 2 cents too.

Well, after the change was done it was evident that Top Digg user’s won’t like it as the power was taken away from them and as expected there was an open-letter published for Kevin Rose and team; Thanks to Darren Rowse’s Open letter to Adsense team, Open-Letter’s are in fashion again :

1. Open letter to Feedburner.
2. Well, you can see the list of Open letters of last week.

Anyway, getting back to the topic the open letter suggests that few top diggers are going to stop submitting the stories and are in a mood to show their power to the Digg’s management.

Kevin Rose and Jay Adelson responded to the Top digg users in a live chat, which has been covered by TechiPedia, however, it seems that Digg management wants to take things under their control a bit and don’t want to kneel down in front of the top users.

Shock SearchLight is an excellent small utility. It’s basically for applying desktop effects on Windows 2000 and above but it can be really helpful for you as far as your concentration is concerned and can be good for your eyes too!

Shock Searchlight creates a grayish layer around the active window and thus ensures that your focus remains on that screen as everything else is dim.

Well, it can be good for your eyes too, because you are effectively getting exposed to less bright screen and that’s good for your eyes for sure.

When the whole blogosphere is buzzing around Last.Fm’s free music offer and how Songza has added 28 million songs in it’s index, I got to hear about another product, Rhydhun.

Rhydhun is a beta product launched by MusicIndiaOnline which is renowned website when it comes to playing online Indian music. Rhydhun is a downloadable software and plays the songs at a good quality at least much better than any other place I’ve heard.

rhydhun

As we can see that Rhydhun looks like any other media player and you can simply go through the collection of MusicIndiaonline and add the songs in the playlist, it buffers the songs and temporarily stores and lets you listen to them without buffering once again, however once you close the application it buffers the songs again.

Rhydhun has 113,712 tracks and 13,706 albums in it’s database and they are all sorted according to the language and the genre. The interface was fairly simple and impressive too.
