Few days back, I’d written that how you can free up the space on your hard disk, when the hard disk space keeps on getting low. SequoiaView is a program which scans your hard disk and displays the content of the drive in squarified treemap and allows you to discover that which directory is taking more space.

The way it shows the treemap, it becomes very easy to spot that which directory is taking the space and with the help of SequoiaView’s treemap I was able to save a whooping 7 Gb of space from 1 partition only.

sequoiaview

I’m sure I’m going to use this for rest 5 partitions and will ensure that I’ll save more space.

Where did I save the space & Why I didn’t I save it earlier ?

Do you wish to play pranks sending emails from a friend’s id? Here is how you go about doing it. It’s pretty much simple, all you need to do is go to the website, and there is a send-fake-email form where in you fill the from name, from address, to name, to address and then go about writing an email like you normally would do.

DeadFake

dead-fake DeadFake allows you to edit all ‘from’ and ‘to’ details before sending the email. It’s very quick and very easy. You don’t have to connect to the SMTP port of the site, issue commands and then send the email. Everything is done just like filling up an online form. One drawback being there is sentence at the bottom of the email sent which reads “No, this email’s not real, it’s http://deadfake.com”, but these things mostly go unnoticed when the recipient reads the email because even emails sent from yahoo usually have a link underneath which is usually not noticed by the reader.

Anonymous Speech

anonymous-speech Anonymous speech is also similar to DeadFake, here again the details can be edited before sending. But added to this you can set the date and time for sending the fake email and you could also send it to multiple recipients (up to 15). But before sending, you need to do a small sign-up with the website. But you needn’t worry; email address in the sign-up is only optional, just to trace your password.

There is one linux application which I really like and unfortunately unlike most of other Linux applications (the ones which are of some standard), is not available for Windows. Amarok music player is that application. Anyway, I love that software a lot but couldn’t run it on Windows.

But not any more! andLinux is the application which will help me in running this application without any problem. andLinux is a software which is based on Ubuntu and which allows you to run Linux natively in Windows 2000 based systems (Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 2003 ; 32 bit versions only).

y-buzz Yahoo! finally released Yahoo! Buzz a digg like voting site which is making quite a stir around blogosphere. Almost every big or small blog is covering about it. Reason! Yahoo Buzz allows users to vote up and vote down the stories and the stories which win the heart of people will get the privilege of being on Yahoo’s main homepage!

Well, that’s quite a deal as in a test conducted about the amount of traffic a site can get, Wired.com got near about 2 million unique hits in 2 hrs.!

Most of the tech enthusiasts wrote that it will be a good competition between Digg and Yahoo Buzz, however Muhammad Saleem gave wonderful insight that how Yahoo Buzz! will be used as a tool to fight against Google Adsense.

Yahoo Buzz is open for select publishers while it’s in beta and will only accept those publishers who run YPN ads. Well, I’m sure that in order to taste this kind of traffic thousands of publishers will move away to YPN just like that!
