Adobe Air has finally released the Linux version of AIR. And with the release now the competition is tough for Mozilla. Mozilla which copied the idea of Adobe AIR and came out with Prism (an open-source project). I believe that Adobe AIR is way ahead of the Prism not only because the applications built on Adobe AIR are more than Prism but they are better looking too.

AIR is more finished product as compared Prism and even the applications look more like a program unlike Prism, which mostly gives nothing but the ability to see the websites in a new browser windows with no toolbars at all.

In recent days, I was able to speak to various people who are active in various social media websites like Digg, Mixx/ Stumbleupon. I’m pretty active on Stumbleupon myself because not only it’s a great time killer! It lets me come across some beautiful services which without it, would be very difficult for me to reach.

However, I was wondering that what’s the impact of Digg, StumbleUpon in our lives ? There are many people who are now running full business from it ! Many bloggers and blog are doing pretty well and there was a time when the blog Smashing Magazine was out of Google Index, it kept on growing by leaps and bounds because there stories were doing pretty well on Digg.

In windows we’ve got various hidden features which we can enable and disable by changing certain values in the registry (Note : Playing with the registry is not advisable and if at all you are trying something, don’t forget to make the backup). Because it’s little bit risky to play with registry and quite difficult to remember each and every registry entry, there are various software like Fresh UI, which allow you to make hundreds of customization.

However, as I’m quite new in the world of OS X, I can’t say if the customizations can be done manually or not, however I found a great freeware which can make various changes and reveal those hidden features of OS X.

We all know what is blog and we all know that what is a book and together they are called Blook! YearBlook is a new attempt which is like digg, however they are taking it one step ahead of Digg and other digg like sites. YearBlook lets bloggers submit the stories and at the end of the year they’ll have 365 best stories of the day and then they’d publish them in a book.

The book will be available for purchase at Amazon. The idea is certainly pretty impressive and if at all it picks up and gets hit, I’m sure we’ll have many followers of this idea too! However, there are few things which I would suggest to the founders of YearBlook -

wordpress-logo-2.jpgWordPress 2.5 finally stepped down from the beta phase and has been officially released by Matt and company. The new admin panel looks impressive, although it’s been one of the controversy around the blogosphere and many bloggers didn’t like the new admin panel. I wonder why we are not used to changes, when the only thing which never changes is change!

Well, as usual WordPress team has done a great job and introduced many new features in this new update and some of them are :

1. Image gallery.
2. Better password protection and security.
3. Multiple image uploads.
4. Better admin panel and better dashboard.
5. and a lot more

Now that we know that WordPress 2.5 is better than older versions then what all are the precautions one should need to take ?
