As we have officially started offering custom blog design services now, we took some time to come with our first set of free themes. They all are based on the same structure with some changes in the color, image and/or look. Its good for anybody who likes minimalist design where the focus is on the content but at the same time the overall look is classy and in accordance with the latest design trends.
This set of five free wordpress themes are easily configurable and have the following features :
1. Advertising Ready : The theme comes with two 125×125 banner spots on the sidebar. You just need to upload the banners to the theme “Images” folder and update the ads.php file. Adsense is integrated in the inside page in top section of the post area. Both these are ready in the theme, but you can choose not to use them now.
2. Easy Feedburner Integration : Comes with built-in support for Feedburner email subscription; just change the value “FEEDBURNERID” to your Feedburner ID in header.php (will be changed at two places)
The “Theme Options” section inside the WordPress control panel enables you to insert the Feedburner URL, which will be used all over the theme. No need to enable the Feedsmith plugin.

I hardly see people supporting Microsoft, however I keep in mind that still over 90 % of people use Windows. Windows Vista gets lots of negative comments and I can’t say much about it as I’ve not upgraded to Vista yet.
InfoWorld ran a campaign called SaveXP in response to Microsoft’s decision of discontinuing Windows XP from June 2008 and now they’ve posted the stats (of course these stats don’t speak for everyone, still it matters) which say that over 70 % of people still want XP to stay and that they’ll buy it again if given an option.
I personally feel that Windows XP over the years has been perfect example of an operating system. It’s been running for years (over 6 years now), it’s stable and it gets better with every service pack.

From WordPress version 2.1 onwards, users have been blessed with the feature of exporting the categories, posts, comments, author information in a WXR file (called extended RSS) and lets you import in any other WordPress installation and all this makes formatting of WordPress pretty easy.
However, you can’t upload a file which is more than 2 Mb in size so that means if your WXR file reaches 2.2 Mb in size then you are out of luck! Now, this sounds a little unfair and the worst part is that it’s not the limitation imposed by WordPress, it’s a limitation imposed by your web host.
Why it happens ?
This happens because the PHP.INI file has post_max_size & upload_max_filesize settings and either of them is set to 2 Mb.
What’s the solution ?

I stumbled upon an excellent new service by Nokia which is a mix of storage of your media files and a place where you can share those files with others. Mosh which is a mash up of Mobilize and Share.
The beauty of this portal is that it lets you download the ringtones, games, themes, wallpapers on mobile as well as your computer. So, not only it works for people who have Nokia phones but for those too, who are using other phones.
Where else this service is useful :

Today while accessing my emails, I noticed a new section in the sidebar of Gmail and the new section was Related Pages. It may be an old feature and I’m really not sure that this is the first I’m seeing this.
However, today after looking at this I was wondering that what is the criteria of getting included in the list of Related Pages. Is Google showing the related pages from selected websites only ? Is it showing from the top search results of few keywords in that email ?
Well, whatever the case be I loved this feature a lot as not only this shows that Google is interested in providing as much as information a user wants.
