Access Your Feeds In Gmail!

  16 Oct 2006 by ReviewSaurus

After Google engineers redesigned Google Reader, most of the people said that it is a mix of Bloglines & Gmail’s design. And most of them thought that why exactly, they are not integrating it in Gmail only. This will not only make it easy for users but it will be very good for Google as well, as they’ll be having more and more users of Google Reader too.

Even, Yahoo Mail beta has the inbuilt feed reader and I’ve always thought that integrating of services in one place is the best thing to do because that will always help users and the company only because then the customers become loyal to them.
Thank God that the world has FireFox & GreaseMonkey script!

Mihai Parparita (a member of Google Reader team), has developed the GreaseMonkey script which allows users to see their feeds in Gmail directly. Follow the instructions given below to integrate Google Reader in Gmail :

1. Download & Install Firefox.
2. Download & Install Greasemonkey Plugin.
3. Download & Install the Script.
4. Restart Firefox.

TIP : You can also use Flock Browser as well. Greasemonkey plugin is compatible with Flock Browser and the script will work in Flock as well. But, this will not work in Internet Explorer for sure.
