We all know that IE 7 has been released and many people downloaded it too. Microsoft has yet not put it under the automatic updates and thus all of the people are missing this great update from Microsoft. Anyway, but those who have downloaded Internet Explorer 7 must have found that they don’t have the standard toolbar (the one which has File, Edit, View, Favourites, Tools….) of Internet Explorer in the default view of IE 7. Although, there is an option of enabling it but if you enable it, it comes below the browsing toolbar (the one with Back, Forward, Homepage, Stop, Referesh……) and thus can be annoying for the Internet Explorer fans.
Thus, to solve this problem, I bring small registry patches which will make the Main Menu bar on the top of Browsing toolbar. Simply, double click on the registry file and merge it will change the view of the toolbar. There is another registry file, which will actually bring the toolbar back to it’s original state and thus in case you change your mind and if you want the default view back, you can simply use the other registry file.
Download Registry Files : Bring it on top! | Give my default view back!

People you dont need to download or apply any patch… Simply press alt in IE7 and your old menu would be visible! Why do so many things when its available at a touch of key!!!!!!
Erm… the post is about getting the menu bar back on top of the page.
The decision to hide the menu bar by default, along with the insipid concepts of ribbons (let's mashup the menubar and toolbar into a space wasting visual mess!) and tabbed browsing (It's like having the taskbar on top of your browser, instead of, well, where it was all the time in the past!) are signs that Microsoft's interface design team have little in the way of practical ideas for improving end-user experience. So, instead, they take the poor programmer's option: Change things for the sake of screwing with people's minds and lives.
I hope and pray some company will develop an OS that will run legacy MS software and replace the bloat and marketing driven changes (AERO? Whataerover) with increased stability, efficiency, and security. Vista came along as the supposed advance in security that XP needed. Instead, it was a major change and the security features (which could have been added to XP in a SP or upgrade, anyway) have proven to be underwhelming.
Microsoft spent 6 billion dollars to develop Vista. Six. Billion. Dollars. That's inefficiency and unnecessary change on a scale only the federal government can appreciate.
I'm not too impressed with this comments form either. 4 paragraphs too long? Don't programmers read, too?
Works well. Now if only Microsoft would start using their own SDK for their own apps.
By the way, care to name any other useful keys?
@ Doug : I’m actually trying my level best to find out the solution to this particular question.
@ Silent : Yes, that is the option, however this registry patch will bring the the menu bar on the top and always visible.
@ SheeEttin : Well, I’m always in hunt of good tips and I’m sure that you can go through the blog and find various other useful tips :)
