Alright, I was not one of the bloggers who wrote about what eventually turned into an April Fool Day’s joke. The joke was that Google was saying that they’ll print off your emails on paper and will hand it over to you at a specified address.

But, it seems that it can be a possibility that we may get these kind of services in future. If not on paper, atleast it seems that Google is interested in giving away the backup of emails on CD and I’m sure that after listening to lot of buzz about Google disabling many Gmail accounts, you’ll love to get the backup done for you.

Atleast, I’ll love to have my Gmail account backed up on a CD and shipped to me as my Gmail account has already crossed 50 % of the space and I would love to have all those important emails at a safe place with me. What about you, so how much space you are using of your Gmail account and that would you like any functionality like that or not?

I am already taking backups of my mails. I use Thunderbird as a client, and every once in a while, I archive them to seperate mail files that I can back up on CDs.

Yes, that is one of the best ways of doing it. But I’m sure you were doing it regularly…isnt it. Guess my situation….I’ll need to download all those emails of around 1.4 GB at one go!

I don’t think I’ll take the pains of doing that….I’ll rather have google ship the backup to me :)
