However, it's worth mentioning how Yahoo! OurCity was first piloted in India before being trotted out globally. If anything, Google is often very deliberate about it's testing phases. So for all we know, the political issues in Brazil and India could have been a planned-for response that Google wished to test Orkut against... I’m not entirely convinced that Google have got their collective heads around Social Networking and Social Media, which might be part of the reason that Orkut has languished.
