Hmm…yes Google is a good brand but defeating Microsoft have nothing. Microsoft is still the no.1 choice for softwares even Apple is competing them vry effectively, I think Microsoft will only go down when the thin but strong man Bill Gates will retire or will DIE :X !! ;)
every brand have a life cycle, i believe with the open markets and economies no one can say microsoft will remain the first choice for softwares … there are thousands of superbrand companies which dont use Microsoft softwares at all.
infact I’ve seen many corporates not using microsoft because of many reasons.
microsoft softwares are used by small companies and individuals at large this is the reason it seems to be the 1st choice … but if you see the revenue generation by using softwares of microsoft and other companies … microsoft is far behind others.
Well, Rishi I will agree with Chirag on this. Microsoft as a brand is huge (No doubt about it) but it depends, if they do awfully wrong things (although it will be difficult to expect really stupid things from them) but still, if we see that Google has grown so much from last year as a brand name…so you really cant say that what will happen in future.
I personally would always wish that Microsoft keeps on rocking things as they’ve been doing for so many years but we really don’t know that when a new company or market trend can change or break things.
