As we have officially started offering custom blog design services now, we took some time to come with our first set of free themes. They all are based on the same structure with some changes in the color, image and/or look. Its good for anybody who likes minimalist design where the focus is on the content but at the same time the overall look is classy and in accordance with the latest design trends.
This set of five free wordpress themes are easily configurable and have the following features :
1. Advertising Ready : The theme comes with two 125×125 banner spots on the sidebar. You just need to upload the banners to the theme “Images” folder and update the ads.php file. Adsense is integrated in the inside page in top section of the post area. Both these are ready in the theme, but you can choose not to use them now.
2. Easy Feedburner Integration : Comes with built-in support for Feedburner email subscription; just change the value “FEEDBURNERID” to your Feedburner ID in header.php (will be changed at two places)
The “Theme Options” section inside the WordPress control panel enables you to insert the Feedburner URL, which will be used all over the theme. No need to enable the Feedsmith plugin.

As you might know that we started offering blog designing services as well, so I had to make some icons on and off as on regular stock photo sites most of the times I didnt find any icon apart from the regular rss, popular, home and contact icons. So while I was making something for our own use, I made these vector icons and then got them into photoshop to give various button effects (12 in total) and am publishing it today for my fellow readers to use. You can download the rar file with all the psd’s and if you face any difficulty in editing the colors then please feel free to contact me.

It’s a new service which lets you make changes to your web pages with ease and believe me, it works like magic.

It doesn’t require the use of any downloads, access to FTP. I do graphic designing for my hobby and time again keep on editing my personal images on Flickr, MySpace, Facebook, Orkut, etc. I took some time away to go through some tutorials available on the net and then used photos from sxc.hu to try all of them. I am not a pro so I kept to the simple ones – but the result has been exhilarating. Now I am going to apply them on my different personal photos and I say you do the same thing. If any of you face difficulty, then talk to me or mail me the photo on which you are trying to apply this effect and tell me which one you are trying and I will do it and send you the psd file along with it as well.

Yahoo Inc’s board met over the telephone on Friday and discussed strategy for getting Microsoft Corp to raise its $42 billion offer for the company and also the possibility of hiring Google Inc to run Yahoo’s search, the Wall Street Journal said.
Jerry Yang did not particularly support
the Google Alliance as such and I do believe the same as this will mean that the whole of search will move on similar algorithm as dictated by Google which is largely unfair for the users.
As Boom Town rightly noted:
“But the Google threat is just that, claim sources close to Microsoft–-a threat that is relatively empty given that it still carries with it all the monopoly issues related to Google’s dominance over the search market if struck. If Google takes over Yahoo’s search business, the thinking goes, it might as well buy the whole company, given that the regulatory headaches are the same. Google will argue, of course, that an independent Yahoo is free to pick whatever partner it wants, if it decides to outsource its search-ad business, without noting that the pickings are pretty slim.”
