If you are a Gmail user, you probably know that Gmail doesn’t allow you to send the executable files at all and even if you compress the exe file in a zip file, you won’t be able to send it. So, here are some of the ways of sending the exe files through Gmail :
1. Rename the extension of the file from exe to doc. For e.g. if the file name is abcd.exe then simply rename it to abcd.doc and then upload it and send it!
2. Instead of compressing the file as ZIP, compress it in some other format for e.g. RAR. If your friend can open up the RAR files then you can easily compress it as RAR and sent it!
3. Simply upload it to some free file hosting service like Rapidshare or DivShare and then send the link to the file to the friend.

There has been quite a few word about the New version of Gmail already as the lucky ones got it faster than me. Anyway, they all have spoken about its enhancement of the way it fetches the email messages and the new contact manager.
However, one more thing which is noticeable is that with this new version of Gmail it doesn’t make Firefox a memory hog! There were many posts and my own personal experience is that whenever Gmail use to check for new messages, Firefox’s memory consumption used to shoot up a lot and that made it work slow.
Apart from that, the unfortunate thing is that the Better Gmail extension doesn’t work anymore with this new version of Gmail and it won’t work until and unless all the Greasemonkey scripts used by Gmail gets updated to work with this new version. Although, Mihai has updated the Macros for new Gmail version and I’m sure most of the people will be happy to work with this updated script!
