This is the second interview of the series and this time I present you Shankar Ganesh. Most of us know about him but for those who don’t know, they can find out more about him and find out that what are the secrets of his blogging :
1. Would you like to introduce yourself to our readers first?
I’m Shankar Ganesh from Tamil Nadu, and I’m doing my 11 Std. I love reading tech stuff, and I hope to pursue a career in computer technology. That’s all I can say about me :D
2. Tell us more about your blog: when & how you came into blogging ?
Well, I actually started blogging at Blogspot around December 2006 and then switched to a new domain at shankarganesh.com around April this year. I was reading many blogs then, and I just thought of starting one. I started writing initially on my web 2.0 sites and others on my blog, and now I cover a wider range of topics.
3. What are your goals for your blog & what benefits do you see in blogging ?
Regarding goals: I expect to get a very wide reader base at least by the end of this year. And also some decent money ;)
Benefits are quite a lot – like, you get to know about different people around, you get to know about more things etc.
4. What sets you apart from other blogs ?
The thing that sets my blog apart from other ones is that I don’t write the same stories again – about those that get featured on other major blogs like TechCrunch and others. Earlier, I used to do that. Now, I don’t, that much. I’m now interested only in providing some good tips to my readers on many technology and blogging related topics.
5. Do you have any suggestions for other bloggers or any success secret, which you’d like to share with us ?
Yep! Here’s what I can say : It all doesn’t happen overnight, use WordPress + Self hosted domain if you aspire to be a pro, and write on things you’re passionate about. Before starting a blog, plan out the topics you’re going to write about perfectly. As a beginner, you mustn’t expect too much money from your blog. Just blog and be happy. ‘Things’ will happen as days, or even months go by :D
6. Is there anything else, which you’d like to share with our readers ?
Yeah, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who’ve given their feedback on my blog, and those bloggers who always took their time to render their support to me. All those people who helped me when I needed any.
Thanks, all.
I wish Shankar best of luck for everything you take up in your life and I hope that you people liked the interview.

Yeah! We need a pic! (Nice interview on both sides btw!)
@ Ben & Bush : Well, I’ll not answer or comment on this. Let Shankar answer it..that why he didn’t give me the pic :(
Nice interview and all the best for Shankar,
@Shankar
Its high time you change the default avatar and put a picture of yourself. I feel this is very much important for a blogger. :-)
Good interview.. All the best shankar !
Hmm Maybe he is not 15 years old but 51 years old.. :P Haha Just kidding.
Looks like you caught the review bug from Ken Xu.
Keep those reviews coming ok. Can’t wait to read more.
This dude rocks. I love reading his blog. Let me add a line from a heart to his testimonial:
Well to say about shankar, the best part about his blog is he focuses highly on content rather than any other extra blog marketing or traffic re-directing.
shankar ganesh is a trust able and a friendly freak.
talking about the pic, i saw one in his flickr stream but he removed his pics let me search my system if i have one
Shankar, that was a good interview. Good points for new bloggers like me. And BTW, like others asked, put your photo please. Not the one where you are very very young. I wish to see the photo of the present Shankar-Techie. All the best. Hope you achieve your blogging goals.
My bests to Shankar as well… being so young and so knowledgeable AND responsible is really rare these days… I’m sure we’ll see Shankar the next millionaire headlines one of these days soon :)
Hey shankar! You can see that most of the people here want to see you! I think you should now on public demand provide your photograph to me so that I can include it!
I’m glad to see that everyone likes him so much :)
Thanks to everyone for your wishes, and comments. Your encouraging words keep me running. To everyone who asked me to put my photo up, I’ll do so soon :)
@Rishi: Thanks. That’s a big compliment, but I think I’m in no way comparable to Darren. :D
@Pearl: Hope that one comes true :D

Kudos to you on maintaining a great blog. For some reason I tried to drop a comment and it din’t show up. May be it’s getting caught as spam, can you just recheck on it :).
Thanks,

Nice interview, Mayank.
And I can certainly relate to Shankar in #4 ;)
@ Wishlost : Thank you for the kind words :) As far as the comment is concerned…I did check it but not to find it anywhere. May be I deleted it by mistake as I may have skipped over the large list of spam comments :(
Shankar, we are waiting for it a while now :)
All the best Shakar for the future . Wish you achieve all the success .
Shankar :) what a great young man with a great young ability and ideas :)
I have always had sweet conversations with him. Learned a lot from him and shared a lot of experiences. He still remains a very good friend to me from the blogosphere and I wish him success and a bright future.
Great post (and series idea!)
For some reason, I always enjoy reading interviews and learning more about those people around me.
Mayank,
Let me know which ringtones you are looking for, I have a huge collection, or even better someday I’ll upload the whole stuff and will tell ya and you can pick it up.
What say?
@ WishLost : Oh well, don’t bother about that much. I just wanted to check if the link had some good ringtones or not. I’m just fine with it…don’t take much pain. There are many other sources from where I can get the ringtones ;), so why take pains..he he he!
Loved the interview. Shankar, you’re doing great. :)
@Ken, Brown: Thanks.
@Dj Flush: I’ve learned a lot from you, than you’ve from me :) Thanks for all your support.
