Google Adsense & Yahoo Mybloglog, two important tools of the blogosphere and most of the bloggers will agree to me that these tools are helping them or have helped them in blogging at some stage. However, now the question is rising that whether, you should use these tools together or not ?
The reason for this question is that Google adsense has a policy, where in it asks bloggers to not display or disclose, the click through ratio to any third party and on the other hand, Mybloglog is a tool which acts as an analytics service for bloggers and helps them make their blog more useful and interactive. However, as Mybloglog is an analytics service and it also tracks down, the clicks on the Google Adsense units as well. So, it means that Yahoo is getting the information of the adsense clicks.
So, as of now, I’ve stopped using the Mybloglog on this blog, to be on a safer side, just like John. However, what are your opinions on this silent war between Yahoo & Google because both of them know about this and none of them is speaking about this. What do you think that Google will allow Yahoo to track these clicks or will it ask the bloggers to stop using Mybloglog?
Update : Well, after having a word in the comments section from Eric (I’m sure you must have seen him as your contact in Mybloglog), I’ve come to a conclusion that it is safe to use Mybloglog along with Google Adsense.

Hey Dino — I’m not sure why you think this is a “silent war” as we addressed this last week on the MyBlogLog blog (http://mybloglogb.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/02/on_mybloglogs_a.html).
Hey Eric,
Thanks for updating me on this and I’ll love to spread a word about it.
No problem. Perhaps as a start you could update this article? Maybe even add MyBlogLog back to your site? Also, as a point of reference, Google Analytics tracks YPN ads.
The odd thing though, is that I know another blogger (who I will not name) who seems to have got his Adsense account banned for using MyBlogLog in his blog.
Well, Mahesh, I think what Eric says is also correct, I think that blogger friend of yours must, contact Google regarding this.
Just read my story, after removing all MyBlogLog links adsense went up !!
@ marcel : I think it was a coincidence as it has nothing to do with the kind of advertisement you get.
Google is better in providing contextual ads as it contains a huge number of advertisers. And also the YPN is limited to around UK and US.
@ Nithish : Indeed! Google adsense is a far better advertising program for publishers than any other advertising network
