Well, I always say that it’s good to be fan but being blind is not correct. I see that most of the people just take the words of few people and don’t look at the real picture.
I saw an excellent article by Ed Bott where he pointed out a similar example where one of such follower said that when you search on Google for the search term ‘Vista IE7 Hang’ then you get around 362,000 search results (currently it shows 184,000 results) so there has to be something wrong with Vista or IE7 !
Well, to give some brain to such a follower Ed did some more searches and found these results (please note these are some old results so it will vary if you do the current search) :
Vista Firefox hang / Vista Firefox hangs – 828,000 – 842,000 results
Safari hang / Safari hangs – 1,640,000 – 1,730,000 results
Ubuntu hang / Ubuntu hangs – 1,020,000 – 1,040,000 results
Tivo hang / Tivo hangs – 1,150,000 results
Well, just to add my own search into this I thought lets see what we get when we search for ‘Vista Rocks‘ and this is what I get :
Vista Rocks : 2,870,000 results
So what I wanted to say that there is nothing as which operating system is good and which is bad. All operating system have their PROS and CONS and it’s really the need of the person which may differ. Graphics designer’s prefer Mac. Programmers prefer Linux and Windows’ market share proves that it is so far the most used desktop based operating system.
So, all I want to say that before saying and coming up with these kind of lame excuses, why don’t you get real and try to find out the real picture.

Of course there is such a thing as a bad OS. Like there is such a thing as a bad software. He might be right in saying that doing google searches is not such an empirical way of finding out if Vista sucks or not, but from a personal perspective, I’ve been around when XP launched, and also Vista launched. And I have to admit that Vista generates more hate than XP.
It might be natural hiccups with a new operating system, but saying that there is no such thing as a bad OS is generalizing it too much. Remember Windows ME? It’s such a load of crap that even Windows lovers hated it. Who knows, Vista might be something of that sort.
What I want to say is, maybe comparing Vista and OSX is not such a great idea, because OSX is way superior ;). But when people are downgrading from Vista to XP and actually calling it an upgrade, then probably there is something smelly in there.

i dont think that the method that your aplying to identify the pros and cons is quite correct i mean by google search ~~~the no of pages doesnot identify the problems of the system~~after each link is not a problem~~~jus find the usability by a survey method that might give u appropriate results
