How does this affect network shares?
If this allowed easier hackability, this is not a good suggestion. Autologin is not the same as not being prompted for a password when the computer returns from screen saver, or accessing network drives with a user account of the same name. How do these instuctions affect such actions?

After installing service pack 3, I found that I could not get the auto-login re-enabled. I am the only user of the computer, and I like to come in from work, hit the power button, then go take my shoes off, and get into more comfortable clothes, then come back and sit down at my computer and it be ready to go. Having to login, then wait for more stuff to load is annoying to me. Others may find it useless, but I rather enjoyed finding the information I needed here.

I just wish They would quit hiding stuff.

Thanks!!!

you guys may be interesting in our XP/Vista AutoLogon software named LogonExpert -- it helps to protect your logon password by encrypting it using AES 256bit.

Thanks.

Many people may find this technique useless.
But I believe that one should be at least aware of every possible tricks and tips related to their preferred OS.
By that regard, I suppose this post is quite informative.
