Yesterday, I started facing a problem where whenever I was playing any song, it just used to skip a lot. Then I thought of firing up Process explorer to see what is bothering my computer!
I was quite surprised to see that the CPU usage was 100% and all of that was used by Hardware Interrupts. I started to think that what may have caused the problem but nothing much was striking my mind, because everything was just running normally and it was just that one time the computer switched off directly because of power failure.
I ran some hardware checks and everything came out just fine (You know, just in case).
Then I thought to use the power of Google and came to a fantastic page which helped in fixing up the problem, It feels good when you come to know that you are not the only one who has faced this problem.
Anyway, Jim Holmes found out the solution this particular problem where his computer was running slowly because of Hardware Interrupts using the whole CPU. Thanks Jim, I’m sure that all of you will find it really helpful!

THX i hope it will help me
I had the same problem. The solution was to disable the modem.
Try this: Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager-IDE-Primary IDE Channel (Properties)-Advanced Settings-Set both Transfer Modes to "DMA if available".
