Zoho Viewer - Can it make the difference?

  14 Aug 2007 by ReviewSaurus

zoho-viewer Zoho has launched another quick app which will help you in quickly uploading the office document files to their servers and then with the help of this app you’ll be able to see that document without the need of any software. The app is Zoho Viewer and the name justifies what it does. The good thing is that you don’t need to register for this service and is available for everyone and that too for free.

Zoho viewer allows you to upload the office document files and then gives you the link so that you can send that link to others and others can view the file without worrying about having an office application. You can also embed the document in the web pages.

Now, the important thing is that if this viewer can attract users or not. Well, I’ll say that this is to give the direct competition to Google Docs as Google docs has been integrated in GMail and it allows you to view the document files directly.

But, can Zoho Viewer beat Google Docs & GMail integration, I’ll say NO but again its not impossible too. Zoho’s online office apps are better than Google Docs so, the only thing they need to concentrate on will be that how they can make it more usable. If they can come up with FireFox extensions, GreaseMonkey scripts or if they can collaborate with email services then I’m sure they’ll be able to make it a huge success. Yahoo still doesn’t have any online office application and they’ve got the biggest email service so, they can concentrate on them.

What do you think, will you use Zoho viewer apart from the fact that it lets you embed the documents. Will you use it to upload the documents and then send it through email ?
