gOS is an Ubuntu based (which is based on Debian distro of Linux, wow! that’s a good chain!) operating system and it doesn’t mean Google Operating System. It means Good Operating system.

However, if you thought that it’s Google Operating System then I won’t blame you for that. After looking at the screenshot of the gOS Rocket (that’s the name of the version) anyone will say that it was released by Google Inc.

The idea behind gOS is that they want to provide an OS which is light weight and which can run most of the applications from the web.

I really don’t see any thing new in this kind of OS as this can be easily achieved in any OS with the help of Mozilla Prism (review of Mozilla Prism).  However, to be honest, the screenshot of the service is just luring me to download it and yes I’m downloading the OS right now! I’ll come up with the review of the service tomorrow.
