Adobe Air has finally released the Linux version of AIR. And with the release now the competition is tough for Mozilla. Mozilla which copied the idea of Adobe AIR and came out with Prism (an open-source project). I believe that Adobe AIR is way ahead of the Prism not only because the applications built on Adobe AIR are more than Prism but they are better looking too.
AIR is more finished product as compared Prism and even the applications look more like a program unlike Prism, which mostly gives nothing but the ability to see the websites in a new browser windows with no toolbars at all.
OS X lovers will joyfully agree to the fact that it was Mac which came out with the GUI and then later it was followed by Windows and same over here, AIR came out with the idea of having web based applications running as local applications for faster communication and then it was followed by Mozilla.
However, as everyone knows that it was Windows which really picked up the market and how Apple became a music company from a computer company, I believe that it may be the Prism which will capture the market in future because it’s powered by the open-source community.
What’s your say on this ? Will Adobe Air become OS X in front of Windows like Prism ?

Aren’t they completely different? I thought the idea of Prism is so that you can run existing web apps more like real apps on your desktop. AIR seems to be more like an environment in which you can build apps which then can do things that regular web apps that run in a browser could not.
My personal opinion is that there is a niche for both as they both do different things and do what they set out to do well.
(Disclaimer: I use Prism to run Vitalist on my desktop, but I have not knowingly used an AIR application yet.)
Agreed with Stephen. One alternative that works like Prism is Bubbles.
Stephen. Are you able to use prism to run the "new" (Beta) Vitalist?
