Best Productivity tip for bloggers - Be original blogger, Be Yourself!

  01 Apr 2008 by ReviewSaurus | , , ,

Being a pro-blogger is not fun and I’ve started to realize that lately! The pressure of doing better than last month is just no so easy, until you are an expert like JohnChow. Well, the better thing in life that we can do really well, provided if we do thing in an organized way.

I’m late learner when it comes to the words like Schedule, productivity, timings. I’ve kinda run away from all these words, all my life. Now when I’m trying to chase these words, these words are running away from me! IRONY!

From last couple of days, I’ve been running a small test for myself to see if I can do better than what I do now and I am really happy to see the results myself. The changes which I made are :

1. Got Offline : I got offline! I synched Google Reader and was able to quickly go through the huge list of feeds. I was able to do it pretty quickly because no one was there to disturb me as they didn’t find me online. I stopped looking at my GMail account every now and then.

I did the writing more quickly as there were no disturbance at all!

2. Stopped thinking that what readers will think : I literally stopped thinking that what my blog readers will think if I’ll do this or what if I do this. Stopped thinking that what happens to my blogs niche and what not! I literally stopped thinking about all the teaching which all the blogging gurus tell everyone! I just focused on one thing that I’ve to write, I’ve to write well and I’ll write all the interesting stuff related to my niche! There you go, I started thinking about the same stuff! Well, not really my niche is Web 2.0, Computers, Blogging and what in general a tech blog is all about and I’ve decided that I’ll make as many as posts as I can in a day, be it small, be it large. I don’t need to produce 3 essay type posts everyday! If I can produce 6-7 small quick posts then it won’t really make a huge difference. The only difference will be that my blog will be more active than normal!

3. No more Google, No more digg/stumbleupon type posts : In all these things and flow I forgot one thing that the blog is what you think and not what your readers think. I’m not saying that readers shouldn’t be respected, a blog is nothing without it’s readers but a person can’t satisfy everyone. Work on posts, write original stuff with your thoughts and that’s it! I’m sure readers will love that more.

I’ve decided that I’ll keep on following these strategies and will ensure that blog get even more knowledgeable and a better resource for everyone!
