Search has become important for us, as we’ve got loads of amount of data stored on our computers, on the internet and we really can’t imagine our lives without having a search engine. Anyway, We’ve got Google when it comes to web search but what about our computer, we have to depend on Windows Default search facility and unfortunately that doesn’t impress me much as it takes lot of time for searching anything. Anyway, that lead me to search for a desktop search software which is fast and doesn’t take much memory like Google desktop search and I came across Copernic Desktop Search. Let’s check out the software review of Copernic Desktop Search :
PROS of Copernic Desktop Search :
1. Instant Search : Copernic Desktop Search displays the results so fast that you won’t even get a chance to blink your eye! I know I know, I’ve exaggerated that but trust me, it way too fast. It categorizes the results and so, if you are looking for an image then simply go the Photos section and you’ll see the photos, if you want videos, then go the videos section and like this there are other options.
2. Preview of the files : It shows you the preview of the files and thus you know if you want that particular file or were you interested in some other file. Thus it becomes really handy for you.
3. Quick search through the DeskBar : It displays a small deskbar on the task bar and that allows you to use the shortcut I.e. Windows Key + S and you can find the file you wanted.
4. Scans web history, emails and contacts too : CDS (Copernic Desktop Search) not only scans the basic files but it also indexes the emails , web history and the contacts and that can also save you some time.
5. Light on memory : Even though, it constantly run in the background to index all the new files which are created in the system but still it uses pretty much less memory and hovers around 3-4 MB only. I’m sure no one would mind that!
CONS of Copernic Desktop search :
1. Doesn’t support plugins : I’m sure it will become a hot shot desktop search application if it will start to accept the plug-ins like Google Desktop Search accepts. However, it will most likely serve the needs of pretty much everyone so, I think majority of people will be happy to use it, I mean you won’t ask for more if you know that it supports almost 150 file types already.

Bottom Line :
I really can’t imagine my life without this software because I’m using 160 Gb of hard disk and it’s almost full and when I’ve to search for something, you should watch my face at that time. Anyway, not anymore as I’ve got Copernic Desktop Search and trust me, you also need it, even if you will not accept it. Must have utility for everyone!

Ive used Copernic for a while now, just for researching info related to my business.
I also use it occasionally to check for me and my family, ID Theft wise.
I have used only Google Desktop Search before and didint like it that much. Hope i have better experiance with this.
