I had read your post and what I meant was switching over to Linux and not particularly Ubuntu or Kubuntu.

@ Nirmal : You didn’t read the post properly at first :P well, going through bleezer , downloaded it and hopefully it will satisfy me to some level. WLW made me depend on it. I wish someone could port it on Linux or create something equivalent to it.

@ kanak : no! it’s not difficult when you’ve done the dual boot :)
Secondly, you don’t need the courage to use Linux. It’s actually super cool. After a long time, I felt that I’m getting some challenge to use the OS and that’s one thing I love! I love to troubleshoot and play with OSes and unfortunately windows stopped giving me that feeling. I was very comfortable in using it and that’s not what I like :)

If Wine crashes your computer, you probably have a kernel or hardware
problem. First thing to check is any proprietary video drivers — if you have a
nvidia driver that doesn’t exactly match your kernel, it can crash
the system as soon as wine (or any opengl app, say, glxgears) runs.

Does glxgears run ok for you?

I cant imagine how you guys get the courage to keep experimenting with linux. The worst thing which hit me is reinstalling the OS, as i have to install all the application again. its really so damm hectic. dont you guys think so ???
