Data management has become crucial for every mouse potato these days and what data could be more important than your passwords. Right from your operating system log in to the hundreds of sites, forums and accounts you visit - all know you by your password and many of them might not bear the question ‘forgot your password?’. This is where a utility like KeePass can come really handy.
Keepass is a free, secure and portable password manager which comes with some good and useful features. It supports the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES, Rijndael) and the Twofish algorithms to encrypt its password databases. The best part about it is that the passwords are encrypted while KeePass is running, so that even if Windows caches the KeePass process to disk, your passwords are not revealed in any case.
In order to control the use of the software as a whole a master password and a key file may be used. The passwords can be stored into different categories which adds to user friendliness and can be exported easily as a list in TXT, HTML, XML and CSV formats. Moreover it can also import passwords from exported lists of some of the other password managers. Being an open source software it allows advanced users to add plugins to it.
While adding an entry, the software gives an estimate of the strength of the password and one can even add an attachment to a password. The creation and modification date and time is also monitored for each password entry. Another useful feature in KeePass is the random password generator which can generate strong random passwords for you.
Overall this software offers everything that is expected of a comprehensive password manager. It really does make handling of passwords a lot easier. A must have for those with multiple passwords and especially those who suffer from sporadic amnesia.
Just how secure are these? Ok, there’s encryption. But wait, how do I bail out of trouble if I forget the mastor pwd? :D
Really a must have utility. Sometimes, it gets very difficult to remember so many pwds.
Stumbled!!!

@ Rakshit : THanks a lot man :)
Well, Sumesh! Technology is to help you and if at all you are dependent on technology so much then boy you need to get out of it as fast as possible! However, still I’ll try to answer your question : Write the master pwd. on a paper and store it in your bank locker or hand it over to someone you can trust.
Solves the problem ?
@Sumesh: Make sure you remember it well! It is a master password for god’s sake! :D
