There are many program launchers for Windows, some allow you to access the programs through taskbar, some through system tray, some hover at the top of the screen and some can be accessed by typing couple of words and then it displays you the applications name and you get to access the application (just like QuickSilver for Mac). I love the last way as, I use keyboard more than mouse and just don’t like to click on the buttons.

keylaunch

Key Launch is such a free utility which allows you to access files and programs quickly by just typing abbreviations of the programs. This utility lets you easily add various other directories, which you may want to include in it’s index. You can also create shortcuts for various other things like opening of website, searching on Google etc.

For those, who have knowledge of programming can play around with DNM scripts and do more with this little utility. You can find more information about DNM scripts from here.

Software version & other info :

Version : Key Launch 1.8
License : Free
Homepage : Key Launch
OS required : XP/NT/Vista

Final Verdict :

Key launch is an excellent replacement of Run Dialogue box (Win+R) and it is much powerful than the Run dialogue box. Anyone who loves to use keyboard more than the mouse will find it pretty handy. So, if you are looking for a replacement of Run Dialogue or if you want don’t want to use your mouse to open a software through Start button, then this is the perfect utility for you!
